Opera in the Park
Sunday September 10, 1:30 pm
Sharon Meadow, Golden Gate Park , San Francisco
Join your BRAVO! CLUB friends for San Francisco Opera's annual free outdoor concert featuring arias and operatic excerpts performed by your favorite artists from the Opera's fall season, accompanied by the acclaimed San Francisco Opera Orchestra.
BRAVO! CLUB has a special viewing area reserved on the lawn along side the VIP section! Look for a festive young crew on the lawn near the roped-off VIP seating area. Use Bravo as the password and we will make room for you!
Bring a blanket, pack a picnic, lie back and enjoy some beautiful music and glorious singing, al fresco. Arrive early to get the best viewing spot!
Remember to visit the Opera's booths for event specials, promotions and information about upcoming performances. Visit the Opera Shop booth to purchase San Francisco Opera sweatshirts, blankets, T-shirts and other logo merchandise. Or visit our kiosks and enter to win an elegant evening at the Opera for two (including dinner and intermission champagne) and other exciting prizes (no purchase necessary to win).
Food and beverages will also be available for sale at the event.
Only low beach chairs and picnic blankets will be allowed in the Meadow to ensure good sight lines for everyone.
For more information, visit www.sfopera.com/oitp.
MORE ENERGY! Or hate to lounge around in the park?
Calling all volunteers!
We need your help at San Francisco Opera's Opera in the Park on Sunday September 10, 2006 in Sharon Meadow of Golden Gate Park. Volunteers will receive a free Opera logo t-shirt to wear that day and to keep thereafter. Volunteers will either help staff the ticket sales and information tent or the merchandise tent, circulate in the crowd distributing collateral, or help people who are entering their details into the electronic kiosks that we use to collect raffle entries. As much as you can, please also answer questions about the Opera and our current 2006-2007 season. We will train you to do these different duties.
Shifts: 9:30am-1:00pm, or 12:30-4:00, or the full day shift from 9:30-4:00.
Email Louise Carroll if you are able to help: lcarroll@sfopera.com
That sounds awesome! I wouldn't mind volunteering! :hyper :hyper :hyper

the san francisco operah house? next to the library? I think next to the civic center? we were right next to it eating at a gyro restaraunt. it WAS an operah and there were about a thousand people outside of the doors watching the operah and reading the subtitles that you could easily read from very very far away.

The building next to the library is the Asian Art Museum. :P The War Memorial Opera House is on Van Ness, on the other side of City Hall next to the Symphony Hall. Are you sure it's the right building?

I don't know, I was on a bike. It was a closed building and there was an operah. It was on the other side of the street of the library somewhere but we were on a corner or something so I didn't really see how far it was. I don't know how far it was from City Hall but I was just told to follow everybody there. didn't even go there I think.

Haha, are you going drag Willco to this dull shit?

Nope. He's not even in town. I wouldn't force him to go anywhere he didn't want to go though. :P

Haha... :)
Seriously though, if I was in the area I would most definitely go. Unforunately, I'm 2,574 miles away according to Google. :D
