It's Halo.  The new weapons are purty good.  The maps appear to be well-designed after a single jaunt through all of them.  Graphics are. . .well, it looks better than Halo 2.

Darn, he didnt have any beta codes to give me, but he said he might be able to get me a copy of Crackdown instead -- besides the copy I currently have rented, tsc tsc.

game is pure fun, yes visuals are not wonderful(wouldn't day say that on GAF  :lol) but the gameplay is class along with the impressive 5.1 sound.

Played a couple of matches last nite after work. Here are some brief observations:

-Picking up and using turrets (switching into a Gears over-the-shoulder mode) is pretty cool
-Graphics get the job done, ground textures look pretty nice but it's the Gears syndrome again: Gears has spoiled me for good graphics, so I'll compare everything to that
-The maps seemed to be pretty small, and all the action was very up-close
-Saw some framerate drops in the beta
-Not a fan of the ATV... doesn't seem to have the speed/maneuverability I expected/wanted
-Proximity mine: AWESOME

as for the beta, I like it. The graphics are decent all they need to fix is the framerate imo.
