Anime is so goofy. I never understood the appeal.

I've never met anyone who has seen the Kenshin OVAs and didn't like them.

The Kenshin/Saitou fight is possibly the best fight in animation history.  :bow

The OVAs are nice, but I reallly hate the designs. The ones in the series are infinitely better, imo.

what the heck is an ova? sounds like ovaries.

the tv show was all right. I like the idea of a samurai who doesn't want to kill anymore so he fights using the flat part of his sword.

original video animation

it is an animation style where the show is sent straight to video. Usually they tend to have better animation than tv series, and are much shorter (4-8 eps).

The art style and animation of the OVAs is better than the TV series overall imo. I didn't like how the OVAs looked when I first watched them either, until I saw that guy get sliced up like paper. :hyper

The animation, sure I'll give you guys that. But when comparing this

to

Well, I just prefer the detail on the latter better.

What was the second OVA?  I gave up Kenshin/anime a while ago and I guess it came out after that or something.  Revenge Arc?

The second ova is the official ending to Rurouni Kenshin. It has the revenge arc from the manga in there and an actual ending to it.

It made me cry. :(

It may be the official ending to the anime but it has nothing to do with the manga, just like Dragon Ball GT has nothing to do with the manga.  THEY ARE LIES.

That ending is NOT considered cannon.  Even the creator of the manga HATES that ending.  He has being saying for years that everyone should ignore that shit.  He basically denies the existence of that shit.  He NEVER intented the guys to die.  They NEVER died.  In the manga they live happily ever after.  Since the anime is just an "adaptation" of his true story, then it is not cannon. Period.  It is like saying that the Spiderman movies and cartoons are cannon, which is dumb.

When the fuck are we going to get Jinchuu animated?

Even if it's not canon, I feel that the ending complimented the story better than the manga's ending. I thought it was a beautiful end to a beautiful story.
