Brandon meets cool loner Dylan McKay and his wacky drunken surfer friends. Brenda, well, I forget what she does in this ep, but I bet she looks hot doing it. This episode is fantastic. I will rewatch and share my thoughts tonite.

My notes for the show as I'm watching it.
- I would like to say that Brandon's hair look much much much much better.
- I notice that we finally get a proper intro. Looks like this show is coming together.
- The first words out of Donna's mouth, "Brenda, your brother is dope", made me cringe.
- I like Steve's bitterness about being dumped by Kelly. It makes him interesting character since he's an asshole.
- The 2 freshmen are probably the only kids on the show that are actually their true age.
- The arrival of Luke Perry! What a badass!
- What the hell happened to Maryanne?!
So this episode deals mostly with Brandon meeting up with Dylan (Luke Perry). It's a pretty good introduction of the character. He is your typical thug badboy. Brandon, after hanging out with Dylan, is not cool enough for Dylan, because he's a pussy, like most people from Minnesota. In the end, though, they make truce and are buddies again. Brandon also meets a new girl who ends up having some problems, blah blah blah, Brandon to the rescue. Let's see what else happened.. OH Kelly was a total bitch to Brenda, but looks like Brenda will forgive her because she has no friends and is nothing without Kelly. Dylan's parents also neglect him, which is why he's a tough guy, I guess. This was an OK episode. I tend to like the school scenery, but this episode was mostly focused on the beach. The show is doing a good job of fleshing out the characters, and, besides Brenda and Brandon and their struggle to fit in, the flaws of the West Beverly natives are interesting and will keep me watching.

I never followed 90210 but, man, it was huge back then, and impossible to escape. Bigger than The O.C. for its time. A cultural phenomenon, if you will.

I ended up watching it tonight anyways. I couldn't deny the lure of 90210. Okay, here are my thoughts:
Brandon's mullet is gone, which makes it much less painful watching him act.
Maryanne is nowhere to be seen, I guess she isn't in this show anymore, haha. For that matter, all the teachers are gone too.
Dylan was introduced, and he is a totally cool cat. He just oozes coolness, and he can go from a James Dean rebel kind of guy to a surfer effortlessly. But he has a secret pain, the pain of having parents who don't care.
Kelly also got a new friend, who I don't remember the name of. She is kind of ugly and only said two lines the whole show, and sadly for her I think those two lines really stood out as the worst acting of the show, which really is saying something. She was just so unnatural in her delivery. Ugh.
Brenda and Brandon are getting even creepier. Towards the end, after having a heartfelt talk, Brenda says to Brandon "Just remember me when everyone wants to get in your green room" and as she says this to him she looks him up and down with desire in her eyes, so there is no doubt in my mind that this was filthy, incestuous innuendo.
I think Brenda and Brandon's mother is going to kill herself, if not the next episode then very soon. Her husband is always away on business trips, and her children are always out of the house becoming corrupted. She is left all alone in that big empty house. You can see the desperation in her eyes as she begs her husband to come home soon over the phone. I think she needs a dog.
I just looked online, and there were NINE SEASONS of this show. How can a show about high school last that long when they are already juniors? I can see them dragging it out through college, but that could only account for about six seasons, and the actors are already looking too old for the characters they play.

Some notes from me:
- In Brandon's dream sequence when it shows water over his head; is that supposed to make it look likes he's surfing? He looks like he's standing in a shower.
- The intro with the mailman in the snow and the postage showing please forward to Beverly Hills, 90210 :lol
- Brandon looks sexier with the haircut but I can't stop looking at Brenda's eyes, the left one is higher than the right one, but she does look better in this episode for some reason.
- Tori Spelling is such a horrible actress
- Dylan reminds of James Dean
Why is Brandon so curious about Dylan? Is it because he stuck up for that kid or he just thinks he's some badass cool guy?
So Steve really does watch the show his mom is in! He must wish that his mother was really like that.
Brandon is such a do-gooder, why does he care if Luke's parents own that hotel and he pretended he broke in, big deal.
Kelly is such a bitch! She gets nice though throughout the seasons, doesn't she? I can't remember.
