WASHINGTON - The first birth-control pill meant to put a stop to women’s monthly periods indefinitely has won federal approval, the manufacturer said Tuesday.
Called Lybrel, it’s the first such pill to receive Food and Drug Administration approval for continuous use. When taken daily, the pill can halt women’s menstrual periods indefinitely and prevent pregnancies.
It’s the latest approved oral contraceptive to depart from the 21-days-on, seven-days-off regimen that had been standard since birth-control pill sales began in the 1960s. The Wyeth pill is the first designed to put off periods altogether when taken without break

Is this supposed to be a joke because you left off the period at the end of your sentence? Hmm, probably not, as you seem to always do that.
Who the hell wants to have periods?
-
tvc with periods :drool

And I have a feeling you would love to bleed from your asshole.
Only if it dripped into your mouth as you fingered me :-*

If it only takes fingering to make your ass bleed, even the needledicked G could probably tear rip your canyon asunder.

Could someone make it so that all of Michelle's posts show up as this? And if you really want to read them, you could click on it and the post drops down like a spoiler?
-
If you have someone on ignore there is a little button on the top right of their post that shows that single post.
It might be possible though... :lol

In two or three years, we'll find out that there's something terribly wrong with this pill, which is unfortunate. :(
-
My ex girlfriend took birth control pills that stopped her having periods, then once she forgot to take them and then she bled for ONE MONTH, I wanted to fuck real bad so I put up with the mess. Its a good thing she liked being fucked in the ass too I guess
-
Oh jesus :(
i'm ok with taking a male pill, but fucking with a womans very delicate vajayjay just aint right. i rather be the one on "the pill"
-
Children of Men? Anyone? I'm getting that vibe from this pill or any that tries to permanently do something to ones body.
Inhibiting a natural process is probably not the best. Though, I don't have a girlfriend currently and I'm not married, so I'm sure my opinion will change lollersnapersnops

cancer

Cancer is caused by everything!
I suspect the pill will make women grow beards which would make me pretty sad.

No because they would just shave it off, but their self confidence would never be the same, making it so I could finally get a girl.

A girl with a five-o-clock shadow!

Holy shit.

I know, Scenester's had sex!
-
This is the first pill that's supposed to stop your period. Those previous forms of birthcontrol that delay it actually always make you bleed for about a month...every few months or so (3? 6? I dunno, I never shot myself up with hormones.)
-
If I were a woman, I would probably wait about 5 or 6 years before I would take this. Everyone jumped on the Depo bandwagon and then there were reports of health issues down the road.
Too bad, because Depo was pretty awesome for women.
-
Ever since the Dalkon Shield, I would think ladies everywhere would be weary of fucking with their veejayjay and all the parts surrounding it.
-
No way in hell I'm taking this. If our government just approved it that pretty much convinces me it causes cancer or aids or something. What a convenient way to get rid of all the feminists. 20 years isn't so long to wait in the grand scheme of things.
-
"Women, now your excuse is gone!"
-
I'd rather put up with crazy for a brief time each month rather than crazy all the time.
Oh, if only there was a way to choose!
-
this is nothing new. you can use your regular, run of the mill combined contraception pills to skip your periods as often as you want. all you need to do is skip the week of placebo pills in your 28 day pack, and head right on to the next pack. so you're only taking the 21 active pills and then moving on. you won't get your period that month. it's especially handy if you know you're going to be on vacation or something.
so with this "new" pill, basically all you are taking is active pills. no placebos. so yeah it's nothing revolutionary.
i used this method all the time when i was younger, and i never suffered any ill side-effects, not even any breakthrough or extended bleeding. the only thing that sucks about it is that you have to cough up more money for pills sooner if you're doing this every month.
-
:lol
Oh, this doesn't seem like a big deal to you because you were taking your pills wrong all that time. You probably already have a 20 pound uterus. :-\

Was depo the patch? Nikki was on that for awhile, and then it stopped working well for her. I'm glad nothing happened to her, or I'd fucking kill someone.
-
Anyone know details about the male "pill" did it get cleared or is it still in trials?
-
:lol

it's not a matter of doing anything "wrong." my gynecologist said it's an extremely common practice and it's not unhealthy to skip menstrual periods through hormonal contraception. the reason most birth control pills have that 7-day placebo is because many women want that option, they feel more normal and healthier if they are menstruating once a month.
i don't skip my period very often, but it's sure nice to have the option when you happen to be taking a romantic getaway on the same week you're scheduled to menstruate :-*
-

Right, and doctors used to give housewives cocaine and recommend smoking for stress.

not to mention anal dialation, doctors are crazy.

it's a proven stress reliever, what do you mean?

i've never been a fan of the "well look what happened in the past" argument. i won't contest that health professionals are regularly off the mark about a myriad of drugs, but i'm not going to let something like that worry me.

No, depo-provera is the shot. One shot = 3 months of birth control / no period (although you still get cramps).

I have sex fairly often thank you vary much :punch
