TRANSFORMERS
ManaByte and G1 fanboys am cry.
-
Yeah i'm actually looking forward to a brain numbingly good time with transformers. it doesnt look bad at all to me.
-
I like Megatron.
-
I don't like having my childhood memories shit on by Michael Bay so I'm going to go with Knocked Up or Superbad. YES I CONSIDER A GOOD COMEDY TO BE A POPCORN FLICK.
-
The new trailer was draw-dropping awesome. Michael Bay this is your last chance. Anyone who holds on to an 80's cartoon deserves to be shot, screw 'em
-
:(
I'm talking about the toys, not the cartoon though
I'm sure the fucking scenarios my mind came up with won't hold a candle to what Michael "I wasted fucking Scarlett and Ewan on The Island" Bay will come up with though.
-
I think Michael Bay is going to hit an inside-the-park home run, where the film is surprisingly good and thoroughly entertaining, but held back by a stupid mistake or two to make it just short of blockbuster glory (see Spider-Man).
Having Spielberg on set and as an active producer looks like it's reigned him in. Bay is a good director, but undisciplined and his pairing with Bruckheimer always led to more excess. Let's see if Spielberg has tamed the wild stallion.
But in this season of mediocre third installments, I think everyone will walk into Transformers with low expectations and walk out surprised.

eh? I was talking about gaf, I didnt see your post. But still the original designs are cheesey shit, change was needed to be relevant and realistic.
-
Michael Bay sucks
-
Shia LaBeouf rules. This will show that Indy IV will be awesome. Shia can never lose.
BEANS!!!!
-
I won't see this movie. Not out of some stupid geeky protest (I did love Transformers growing up), but because it just doesn't interest me in the least. Summer arthouse flicks FTW!

He's really a pretty good young actor. i've been surprised with his acting in Holes, Even Steveans, Disturbia. i hope he does a good job in transformers, but if he fails Josh Dummel and Taye Diggs are there to pick up the slack.
-
Yeah. This movie really does look entertaining as hell. For me, it'll probably be this first and foremost, then Knocked Up, then Harry Potter.

:lol
Even Stevens was indeed a hilarious show
-
I dislike the designs, and from what I've heard of the script it sounds awful.
But I'll still see it. :-\
It's got Cullins doing the voice for Optimus, and Keith David doing voicework too, so it can't be all bad.
-
Funny, I just showed my cousin the new trailer for Transformers. He agrees it looks awesome. I should've called this before Willco. (well i kinda did on my blog lolz)
Although both Superbad and Knocked Up look great.
And I'll probably end up loving The Bourne Ultimatum.
-
Superbad and Knocked Up look 1000 x better than this trash
-
You just can't handle the NON-STOP GIANT ROBOT ACTION

Calling it now:
Knocked Up: Fantastic, better than 40 Year Old Virgin
Superbad: Pretty damn dissapointing. Judd Apatow being a exec producer means very little kiddies. He didn't write or direct this movie. Michael Cera is good, but that other kid is pure annoying shit.

I called this two weeks ago to my friends...I said, "somewhat surprisingly I feel that the best blockbuster of the summer, in terms of actual quality, is going to be Transformers. I'm not sure how I feel about that."
-
Biggest star of the summer. TWO YEARS IN A ROW BABY (transformers, indiana jones):

I was a big fan of the show as a kid, but these distinguished mentally-challenged fellows on GAF are just that: distinguished mentally-challenged fellows. If you can't put child nostalgia aside and admit the old designs were far too cheesy to ever been translated 100% in 2007 you're no worth arguing with.
The one thing I don't like about the designs in the faces. They look so crumbled up and jagged. Outside of that I can't honestly say that kind of surface stuff bothers me. I want to see a good movie, period.

THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM
-
THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM
It transcends "summer blockbuster" for me. It's just going to be an AWESOME PIECE OF FILMMAKING.
-
I'm still not gonna see it.
Michael Bay can suck it.
-
Confirmed: Me and whoever comes to see Transformers with me are singing the "Pearl Harbor sucks" song before the lights go down
:D
Still, I'm ready to be pleasantly surprised by Transformers.
-
I would agree, but only because this is probably the worst year for popcorn flicks in the last decade. They all stink to varying degrees.
Im all about NEXT year. Bond 22, Iron Man, The Dark Knight, Sin City 2 (maybe), etc.

Unless he magically can complete sin city in like a month including post production, it ain't coming. He is doing barbarella probably in the fall-winter. Sin City 2 is probably a 2010 movie (2009 at soonest).
-
It doesnt matter. Iron Man, The Dark Knight, and especially Bond 22 w/ Haggis on board will satisfy me.

Overall summer 2008 looks like a lot of fun, unlike 2007's summer.
Iron Man (Best super hero film since Batman Begins)
The Day the Earth Stood Still (I expect it to suck, but I love the original so I am curious)
Speed Racer (Going to suck, but live action speed racer from the matrix guys is something so absurd I have to see)
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (Eh, I dunno the first one was okay I guess)
Indiana Jones IV (Come on, everyone knows I suck Spielberg's cock by now)
The Incredible Hulk (First one was meh, this one will be meh but I see summer super hero films)
Wall-E (Pixar :bow)
Tonight, He Comes (super hero action film with Jason Bateman, I gotta see this)
The Dark Knight (Nothing needs to be said)
Iron Man, Indiana Jones, & The Dark Knight shall make me a happy Cheebs.
-
I watched Casino Royale again last night, and I liked it more than ever. Bond 22 = fap
-
Good lord next year is going to be sweet.

no. It stars JOHN GOODMAN. And the Wachowski's are complete hacks.
-
I sure hope Bourne is decent. This seems to be the summer of shitty part III's.

I trust Paul Greengrass to deliver a great summer blockbuster.
-
I don't. Greengrass has never delivered a summer blockbuster. The Bourne movies are fun, but they're not OMG MASTERPIECES nor are they blockbusters.
-
Agreed. Films like United 93 are Greengrass' forte, not blockbusters.

but but bourne supremecy
-
Was an entertaining sequel marred by awful cinematography and not as good as the original. It's also not a blockbuster.
-
Thats where I cant agree. I liked Supremacy more, and thought the handheld worked for the movie. But it is NOT a blockbuster, agreed.
