Renumber your queue in the order you want the movies.
-
What version of Brazil is the best? Netflix lists the "Love Conquers All" Version and another version. I'm not sure which I should get.

You want the other version. The love version is the original studio cut that has the last 10 minutes of the movie cut out.

I assume people here aren't fond of gangster movies? It's probably my favorite genre, so I guess I'm in a minority. I'll probably have to check out noir movies. Added Casino, which I surprisingly haven't seen.
Thing is, I'm not too knowledgeable about noir.
-
Alien if you havent seen it.
fixed.
Why not add both?
Donnie Brasco
-
What is that Chinese movie that inspired The Departed?

Infernal Affairs

I've now got 74 on my queue. Now I just need to sort out what i wanna watch.
-
:D
Johnny Depp rocks in the movie. And Pacino isn't his usual OMG I'M YELLING AND OVERACTING self.
-
look, donnie brasco was great but if you want to see pacino in topform you REALLY need to add glengarry glen ross to this list.
the last 20mins will make you orgasm.
-
Well, I wasn't really complimenting Pacino's performance that much - just saying it wasn't annoying.
-
What's a good movie on Al Capone?
-
which pacino performances annoyed you?
-
What's a good movie on Al Capone?
the untouchables is the only capone movie i can remember. deniro plays capone and while he has a pretty small role he's fucking perfect. method acting at its finest
-
His performance in Heat got to me a little bit. Maybe "annoying" was the wrong word...I actually just laugh at his ridiculousness a lot of the time.
-
there are a couple of classic pacino scenes in heat where he's yelling and shit. one is with the black guy where he's acting like an owl but i couldn't find that one on youtube. i found this one though:

i personally love it when he yells and says these crazy things :lol
-
I just can't take him seriously. :lol
-
I now have 80 films on the queue. I think that's enough for now.
The first batch will consist of Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, and Blood Diamond.
-
Here is the top of my queue.

-
mulholland drive has one of the greatest softcore lesbian scenes i've ever seen. appearently you could even see some vag in the theater cut but that only stayed in the theater cut, it never appeared in any of the dvd's :'(
-
After doing the Moves You'll <3 feature I have 91 things in my queue.
-
I'm addicted to adding stuff to my queue!
Right now I have 117 movies in there. Have to rate more movies so I can get more suggestions so I can add more!

Add me!

Some ones I recenetly rented on my list (not sure if they're on yours or not):
Pan's Labryinth
Apocalypto
Stranger than Fiction
-
Film noir:
The Postman Always Rings Twice (the John Garfield/Lana Turner version, NOT the Jack Nicholson/Jessica Lange version)
Nightmare Alley
Double Indemnity
The Maltese Falcon
Sunset Boulevard
The Dark Corner
Out of the Past
Criss Cross
The Killers (the Robert Siodmak and Don Siegel versions are equally good, get either)
Leave Her to Heaven (one of the few color movies labelled as noir)
Angel Face
Gilda
Night of the Hunter
The Big Clock
Italian movies:
Ossessione (Italian version of The Postman Always Rings Twice, very interesting to see how a different director handles the subject matter)
1900 (epic historical movie by Bernardo Bertolucci)
The Leopard (another historical drama based on a very famous Italian novel, Il Gattopardo, directed by Luchino Visconti - stars Burt Lancaster in the title role)
The White Sheik (an early Federico Fellini film - a very light, comic film, my personal favorite of his)
The Conformist (another Bertolucci film, an absolute knockout, go into it blind without knowing anything about it - starring Jean-Paul Trintignant)
The Legend of 1900 (a personal favorite of mine, and a bit of a guilty pleasure - not a great film, but the soundtrack is dazzling. Directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, who also did Cinema Paradiso)

I love Pacino but I felt his entire performance in that movie was...off. The over the top stuff was really jarring to me. IMO De Niro owned that movie
