Title: i bought rpg maker 3 for 5 bucks
Post by: Van Cruncheon on May 30, 2007, 03:50:55 PM
i'll probably play with it (rpg maker 3) for all of five minutes before giving up, but the thought of making HIMUMU'S DOCKSIDE ADVENTURES is just so awesome. i wish these stupid rpg maker titles were more accessible, so i could knock out some insulting inside joke of a game in like, 30 minutes or so, without having to invest any time or energy in learning some crappy object-driven script syntax or badly-translated eventing model. is rpg maker 3 as irritatingly convoluted as its prequels?

I'd pick it up if it supported LOLCODE and the animu SDK.

Back at my old job one of my primary responsibilities was to prescreen design candidates.  You would (actually you wouldn't) be surprised at the number of candidates whose experience was recreating "famous" parts of Final Fantasy games or Animu series in RPG maker.

My condolences.

That sounds awesome.

I guess that would be the design equivalent of the art demo reels that are entirely Bryce 3D landscapes and Shadow Madness-level Son Goku models--which our unethical art department has (internally) shared with us.

Is that the Super Defense Kit?

Try the PC versions, much more customizable and user friendly.

Where did you work?

Game Studio?

Yeah... although if you're not allowed to be specific, that's cool. Was just curious.

Is that the Super Defense Kit?

Stagnant Derivative Kit. It allows for easy drag and drop loli creation and provides a variety of precanned character backgrounds and behaviors.

Actually, they spun that off last year into multiple SDKs to make things easier for content creators--now there's the Stupid Ditz kit, the Sporty Dyke Kit, the Starry Diva Kit, the Silent Dork Kit, the Sexy Dame Kit, and the ever-popular Sisterly Doombringer Kit: for when loli just isn't taboo enough.

Those are a great idea but it takes so much time and effort to make anything that after a while it's like what's the fucking point. And then after you spent like a ton of time on it who the fuck is even going to play it? Unless you mail/give the disc+mem card to someone so they can play it for like 10 minutes, laugh, and then throw it to the side never to thought of again.

That's both hilarious and sad at the same time.
