I fucking hate Tool. They epitomize much of what I hate about modern rock music.

i love tool. i would let mj keenan suck my dick, but i would be afraid of him crying afterwards and lecturing me about something zoroastrian

I feel bad for Keenan's son. You KNOW that child is going to be verbally tortured.
-
Where's the rick astley option?
-
An old friend of mine from highschool is twisted from extensive LSD usage (and apparently other genetic psychological problems) and honestly believes that Keenan guides his life like a cult leader through bizarre lyrical interpretations. He's been Tool-obsessive for a long time, usually limiting it to babbling about synchronicity or the occult and how band members apply to these things, but now he appears to be full-blown schizophrenic.
For me, it makes Tool fun to listen to. The King Crimson fan in me says I would like them otherwise anyway.

Tool is the best rock band out right now. That's not saying much based on the competition, but I still feel they are flippin awesome. The thing that really impresses me about the band is that every member shines on their work; the length of the songs contributes to this, but the musicianship is undeniable. With many bands you don't even hear the bassist, or don't want to. Here the bass flows so great and connects to everything else, as does the drums. And then you have Maynard, a truly remarkable rock singer with one of those stand out voices; at times he can sound like an angel, while at other times he can bogga bogga with the rest of em.
I won't compare them to the Beatles because both bands are so different. The Beatles have multiple classic albums and a place in rock history, forever. Tool is still making steady progress in that regard, and I salute them
