Who bought these? Own up.
P.S. -- I might, despite how much I worry about the quality of the discs, since something tells me Lucas won't be releasing the originals for some time after this. :-[
-
Are there any reviews out? I wouldn't mind seeing photos of the Best Buy tin.
edit: someone on gaf has it already apparently. the original versions are letterboxed :yuck
-
Released with HORRIBLE BOX ART! NOOOOES!
-
Yeah, wtf, did Lucas Film hire some Internet photoshop dudes for their DVD covers?
-
lol you're not going to give Lucas more of your money are you
-
I'm really debating it because the only versions I have are the VHS Special Editions.
-
I think I'll get the dvd boxset instead for £20, rather than £15 per dvd.
-
HEADS IN A ROW! THE DVD COVER RELEASE!
HEADS DESCENDING IN A ROW! DVD RELEASE!
AIRBRUSHED HEADS ASCENDING IN A ROW! DVD RELEASE!
-
Lucas can't win with you guys. Everyone bitches about the original movies, then they get released - and now you have to bitch about the box art!

Am I reading this correctly??? You were hoping for a Fullscreen pan and scan version? :lol
All I know is, I can't sit through any of it anymore. 360 LEGO Star Wars 2, however.... *grabs car keys*
-
I liked the last release, I should buy that and then sneak the covers from those onto the new releases lol.
There's in an office near me that looks like Lucas when his hair grows big. Im gonna tell him what I think about box art one of these days when he's lookin' like lucas.

"Letterbox" meaning that they are in 4:3 aspect ratio, with the letterboxing as part of the picture. They are not anamorphic widescreen. It's complete bullshit, just so he can gouge the fans of the originals for a third time when the "megabox" set of all six films is released next year.

I just got them and it says "Anamorphic Letterbox" on each disc.
-
That's just for the "reimagined" versions.
-
LOL IS THIS THE NON ANAMORPHIC ORIGINAL PICTURE ONE?

Herm, cases aren't as bad as I imagined they would be.... :-[
-
theyre so generic and air brushed.
-
I like how they make Ben Kenobi look like Santa Claus.
-
If I would buy it, I'd get with the Best Buy tin...
-
It needs more cowbell.
-
I have the originals in a boxset on VHS; the box is pretty banged up, but the movies play well. Obviously it's not DVD quality, but at least it's the original.
I almost bought one of the DVDs today, but then I remembered I have like a 13inch TV. :lol
-
Looking at those cases is like looking at some Photoshop newb who just discovered outer glow.
-
I bought them today!
:rock
-
Way to ruin the world.
-
I'm very tempted, but will hold off for a few more days until I'm raking in the big buck$. :-*
-
Did you get a job? Or was demi offered one million dollars by Robert Redford?

The first. Though, the latter sounds equally tempting. :-*
(At a movie theater, by the way. Don't laugh.)
-
Why would I laugh? Everyone should have to work a service job for at least a year for some humble pie. They tend to be the more honest jobs. The experience keeps you grounded if you ever start getting paid for doing something that cant be as easily qualified as 'work'.
-
:-*
Its the only job I can imagine myself doing around here. I dont want to go anywhere near the restaurant business, nor be a stock boy at some faceless corporate pharmacy. Clearview Cinemas is the way to go!
(Plus I get tickets and treats for free. :drool)

The only thing worse than retail/service is food service. I did three months dishwashing at a banquet hall/restaurant. I worked with this guy missing half his teeth that stole trash-bags and a guy who had just gone through a divorce and was caught sleeping on the breakroom table overnight once.
The chefs never told me when things were hot and would bark harsh laughs as I burned myself. And my god the dirty smelly dishes. Its amazing the kind of smell comes from so many foods when they essentially become ONE food in the dishwashing area. I was offered free meals but I never took them. I left every night feeling sick.
