I was bidding for a wii on ebay (no other way to get it) with 40 minutes left to go and I bid $380 over the last bid of $370 and with ten minutes left to go somebody bid $400 so I waited and at 2 minutes to go bid $410 and then they bid $420 so in the last 28 seconds I bid $425 and won.
it's a lot more than how much it is at stores but it comes with 14 games and 2 controllers.

oh no, that's 9 games.

There's nothing wrong with sniping auctions. He was trying to do the same to you. If he really wanted it, he'd put in a higer price.
5 of those games are Wii Sports and the other 9 Wii Play. You got fucked.
Wii Sports actually has a pretty good resale value. sucks since my roommate bought our Wii used

dude I don't honestly think that somebody got a wii and had 14 games and thought to suddenly sell it.
I'm very much obsessed with metroid prime 3 though and this is honestly (somehow) the only time I bought a system with a specific game in mind to play.

Not wrong -- just stupid. You can get Wiis for like $300-$325 on Craigslist.
Enjoy your "14 games" :lol
EDIT: And there's systems on eBay with a $350 buyout, yet you're bidding $75 above that -- wtf were you thinking?

I don't really give a shit. I'm more concerned with how common it is to wait to the last second.

Wii auctions seem to have inspired a new era of deception on eBay. An auction with a Wii and Wii Play and extra nunchuck is now advertised as "1 system PLUS 14 games PLUS 4 Controllers" because it's 2 nunchucks and 2 wiimotes.
God help us if these sucker-buyers if the sellers ever bundle in Warioware or something. "80 games PLUS 4 controllers!"

It's very common....but you didn't even wait until the last second. You made the mistake of getting into a bidding war in the last hour, when you should have been outbidding with 10 seconds left. Never get into a bidding war. It becomes emotional and you end up paying way more than you should have (eg: $175 for Wii Play) just because you wanna beat the other guy.

I figured if it went that high that they wouldn't really give a damn but when I checked on it out of curiosity it said I was outbid. I don't know why that pissed me off.
