Is this....a remake?
Yeah.
-
Sweet, another horrible remake of a good horror movie
-
Hollywood still has it's writers block. Hmm, I wonder how this movie will play out...
-
that poster looks pretty shitty

Probably something like this:

TDR isn't bad. It falls apart half way through. It honestly seemed like he didn't know where to go and just stalled while writing it.
The free bird scene at the end is incredible though.
-
TDR is awesome. This poster sucks. I still think the movie will rock. That is all.
-
LOl
-
Is Rob Zombie starring as the main character? I don't think Mike Meyers would look as quietly menacing with long stringy dirty hair.
-
It's like, nearly the same composition as the TDR poster. It even has the same color palette. I mean, I know centered characters looking all iconic is a pretty common movie poster, but doing the same composition 2 movies in a row? Oh well, at least it can't be worse than POTC3 and SM3.
-
I do kinda like the poster though. I'm a minority!

So, apparantly:

Some crazy new Intel came into B-D this morning as we've been informed that Rob Zombie has been hard at work filming new material for his remake of Halloween, which is slated for release on August 31. Today ended seven straight days of grueling filming around the Los Angeles area, which included the addition of six, count 'em, six new death sequences! The film has been given a serious boost in violence, gore and bloodshed... but that's not the big news - we received word that an entire new finale has been shot. Details are mum on what is different, but we're told the new ending is quite gruesome!! Watch for the return of Michael Myers in classic fashion in only two months. Click the title above for more news, pics, the trailer and poster.
Well, looks like it must not have screened well at all.

Yikes. Why is it slated for late August in the first place? Whya re they not going for the easy target date of late October?
Actually what with reshoots, I am guessing it will be delayed a bit.

ZOMBIE HIT THE PANIC BUTTON
FAILURE TOTAL
-
I fucking hated Halloween.
-
The whole film needs to be scrapped - he just doesn't get the concept and wants to aim for more gore and carnage, which is not what the original was about.

I still doubt it ends up being worse than any of the post-2 sequels. Impossible, really.
-
It sounds like he's just creating a big budget version of the post-Carpenter sequels. All they did was aim for higher body counts, more gore, more nudity, etc. That really worked out well, eh?
-
The Halloween franchise has already been shat on so much that I doubt Zombie's film is going to do it any more harm...it's not like, say, Pirates, Die Hard, or Indy, where all previous entries in the franchises have been at the very least quality stuff.
-
It's not like he's making a sequel, though. This isn't an addition. It's a full fledge remake, which directly shits on the original.
-
Yeah, well, Van Sant remade Psycho but the original's still around...I just look at it the same way.

I thought you were excited about it some time ago? ???
Movie has always looked bad to me, but I'll still see it
-
This movie will be decent. Surprisingly so, from the sounds of it on this forum.
It's not going to be all death sequences, that's for sure.
