I need seasons 4 and 5 on DVD...is this on the website, or only in the brick and mortar stores?
-
BOTH!! WOO
-
ooh, the shields a pretty high quality show for 20 a pop
-
I know!! I'm gonna cash my check from last Friday and just use 100 bucks of it on THE SHIELD. And then I will start watching ALL OF IT. It will be a great day.
-
is there a list of what shows are in the deal? I don't know what shows fox did.
Edit: nm, saw the list.
-
I just edited. :-*
But you edited. :o
-
Yes! Time to get Shield seasons 4 and 5.
Also, on a stranger note, I was at a used Japanese book/cd/dvd store in NYC yesterday, the 24 season sets used run from $100 to $140 there, and now they're $20 at Best Buy.
-
I missed a couple. Edited again.
-
Nothing I want that I don't already have :(
BTW Lost has recently become my obsession. Never watched a single episode as of a month ago, but now I've blown thru S1 and S2 in 2 weeks. Its become my favorite show. I am now a Lost zealot.
-
I heard about this from Mupepe. :-\
-
Not a fan? I understand people's gripes with the show - they just dont apply to me. I havent felt frustrated yet waiting for answers. But then, being able to watching the episodes marathon-style certainly helps.
-
i don't think i'll ever buy shows on dvd, because i'd only watch it 3 times at most. :-\
do you guys watch these regularly?
-
Not a fan?
I watched the first season on DVD and loved it. I couldn't keep my attention through the second season. I think it's just much better suited to watching on DVD, especially since it's airing schedule always seems to be a complete mess.
And I've found I buy TV sets on DVD mostly to give them out to friends. Sitcoms are the exception. I've watched my Arrested Development, Seinfeld, Office, Curb, etc. DVDs many times.
-
Yeah, like I said, owning the DVD helps big time - no hiatus, no reruns, no 10 week breaks. I think I'll die watching S4 live, only one episode a week :(
My advice though? Give S2 a second chance on DVD. 90% of what I had heard was hate, but I loved the shit out of it. In fact, I loved S1, but I loved S2 even more.
-
Eh, I really don't feel like getting invested in it again. I dropped basically every show other than The Office this year. It was kinda nice.
-
And from the GAF thread: Somebody posted a link to this coupon and thread
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=535149
(http://members.cox.net/angh1em/coupon.jpg)
It seems to work for at least one DVD set for everyone in the thread. Some of them used the coupon for multiple DVD sets.
I might just go back once each day if I can't get it on every DVD set.
-
You kept one show, and you choose The Office (which after a great year last year, felt like all sorts of jumping the shark this year)? Cajole, you have failed.
-
The decision was based greatly on the fact that it's the one show many of my friends watch and quote regularly. Hell, it wasn't even a conscious decision...it just kinda happened.
-
Fair enough, I guess. I think when Michael was gonna do the mock suicide was the moment I bailed out on the series. It has gone from amusing, relatable work situations, with a totally annoying boss, to something completely over the top. I dunno, it just felt like a caricature to me this year.
-
Yea, Season 2 is no doubt as good as the show is going to get. But even with how farcical it became this year, I still get a kick out of it.
"Lord, beer me strength." is one of the greatest lines ever.
Oh and Solo, the other shows I was watching regularly for a while that I dropped this year were 24, Lost, BSG, Prison Break, and House. 24 and BSG have been identified as shark-jumpers this year, Prison Break is just stupid, and House...well I just missed a few episodes and I think I'll watch them eventually. And I did watch Entourage this season, so I guess I didn't drop EVERYTHING.
-
S2 was greatness, I'll agree 100% there.
-
Ok, so I'm about to venture out to try out this coupon deal. I'll report back with how it goes down.
-
24 is a stinking, festering turd. You made the right call.
-
Season three was great, fuck the haters! :'(
-
I own all my TV on DVD, I need to buy another 185 DVD case, the two I own are full of dvds :(
-
I dunno whether to buy this or not. I've already spent so much money on the Deep Discount sale, and I'm not crazy like that Valis guy who has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on DVDs he will never have the time to watch. :/
-
I can say ive seen all my dvds at least once, most of them twice...some of the tv series more than 4 times :D
-
How many times have you seen The Fall Guy Season 1, lawl?
I have a backlog of DVDs. I pick them up at home during the holidays and then watch them over here during the year.
-
Almost all the way through! Im working on it! Just watched the mid-season TWO PARTER "LICENSE TO KILL" where Colt dressed in Navy drag and Tom Selek mocked him.
I buy large batches and work through them too. I dont have cable and there are a lot of movies out there worth owning.
-
They might release The Six Million Dollar Man on DVD in the States now that the new Bionic Woman series is coming out on TV, as sort of a commercial tie-in. You interested in that at all? I used to watch it as a little kid, but my memories of the show are pretty hazy.
-
Nah, they played that show too straight. Fall Guy has a lot of humor in it which is what lets it survive as a show in my opinion. Old tv shows that took themselves seriously but put little effort into creating quality never stand the test of time, but shows like Fall Guy you can laugh WITH.
That makes a difference.
-
Well I went to the two Best Buys near me. I bought two sets at each store to check if the coupon would work on multiple items. I used a coupon at both stores, but it only applied to one set each time. The first girl tried to give me the discount on both, but she sucked at working the register. I was gonna tell the second girl that I'll just take one set since the coupon only worked for one and I knew she wasn't about to give me the discount on the other, but I couldn't do it.
Whatever, I still got the first four seasons for $60 total. I'll probably make another trip later today to get Season 5 for 10 bucks all sly-like.
-
awesome thread, thanks. 24 seasons 4 and 5 for me tomorrow!
