Title: HELP I AM TRAPPED IN THE FAUX-BAVARIAN HELL OF LEAVENWORTH, WA

tvc and maf are trapped here with me, along with another snarky coworker and it SUCKS. maf bought a giant rubber toad and a dagger +2. HELP!

So who at MS thought it would be smart to send you to the little Bavarian town that is known as Leavenworth?

A friend of mine moved to Leavenworth after high school. He does construction work during the day and sleeps with 40-50 year old women at night... he's got serious "mother issues."

Leavenworth is an ok place for a pit stop/lunch at most. Whose bright idea was it to put a tourist trap near a penitentiary?

The town was dying, and the city council figured going Bavarian would bring in the tourists.

I've been there twice in my life that I can recall.

Once as a stop on the way back from a band trip to Lake Chelan.

The second time my family was camping near Leavenworth and we went into town to check it out.

The place just feels so, I dunno sad I guess. I can't imagine living in somewhere like that.

Sounds a lot like Helen, GA.  Lots of red roofs, and touristy bullshit.  We went there for my dad's 50th birthday celebration several years back.  I will never return.
