I'm going to try it out. Hopefully it will deliver.

check out the opening sequence of the game: http://www.gametrailers.com/umwatcher.php?id=54767 (http://www.gametrailers.com/umwatcher.php?id=54767)
:D

they're trying to get the ESRB to allow them to show the opening without showing the ESRB "M" rating. it would really be awesome if they're allowed to.
-
looks good. i will pick it up on the cheep.
-
Starbreeze is an awesome developer. I'm definitely looking forward to this game. They should do a Witchblade game, in the style of Enclave, next. :D
-
I have not been this psyched for a game in awhile. It's going to be a lot of fun.

Part of it - trying not to spoil myself too much with this game.

Like Riddick, the main story here won't take you long to get through (it's in the 10-hour range), but because of the game structure, you can spend time getting lost and messing around in the wrong parts of town if you choose. There's not a ton to do besides receiving "track this item down" missions from characters in subway stations and using your tentacles to pick up objects and mess with the game's physics -- isn't the easiest thing to do if you're the type who likes to stack objects in piles and then use those to climb to secret areas, but it works and occasionally rewards you with bonus collectibles. But the feeling of running around town works pretty well, and you really get to know this version of New York by the end of the game.

WEEKEND RENTAL CONFIRMED
-
It's a single player first person shooter - most are 10 hours! :lol
"ITS A SHOOTER I CALLED IT!"
-
Prey > The Darkness
Condemned > The Darkness
-
Considering The Darkness has multiplayer and a whole lot of awesome unlockables, like the Top Cow back catalog, I don't think so! :lol
-
Quake 4 > The Darkness
bu bu bu it has Quake 2 and Multiplayer
-
I don't get it.
You have a 9.0 game that apparently has an awesome single player narrative, is extremely polished, plays well, is good for 10 hours in a play through (more if you want to unlock awesome goodies or screw around) and has multiplayer - and you complain.
Advent Rising. That's all I have to say on this matter in regards to your opinion!
-
Advent Rising > The Darkness
-
Now you've gone too far.

The Top Cow back catalog? All the comic books published by Top Cow? Awesome. :o
-
Not all, but ones pertaining to The Darkness and some others apparently. I know the PS3 version also has complete and full movies, cartoons and TV shows playing on TV sets in the game. Like you can sit in the living room and watch an entire episode of Mighty Mouse.
-
Shadowrun > The Darkness

:(
Have you seen the Witchblade anime series, Willco? (I mention this since Witchblade and The Darkness were closely tied together in the Top Cow books) Do you know if it's any good?
-
Now you're just making things up and I own Shadowrun!

No idea about the anime. I read a few issues of The Darkness and Witchblade back in the day. Word is if people dig this game (meaning, if it sells!) then we could see perhaps a Witchblade adaptation and a Darkness sequel. That'd be swell if it they keep 'em as cinematic as this game apparently is.

The anime has no relationship to the comics apart from the Witchblade itself...and the design of Witchblade is japafag wank material (even moreso than the already half naked American design)

I'm curious as to whether it's actually any good or if the sole reason for its popularity is the near nudity present throughout.

The Darkness > Halo 3

MGS4>>>>>>EVERYTHING
-
The game looks generic. I hope it bombs.

Apparently it might as well not have multiplayer.

it looks pretty gimmicky but the graphics are really good. I like how the stream of smoke comes out of the M16 as he backs away.

Rainbow Six Vegas > The Darkness

but it doesn't let you turn into a darkling to jump 50 yards onto a guy's face.
