Title: KILL BILL WEEKEND ON TNT.
Post by: Vizzys on September 14, 2006, 07:17:08 PM
Perhaps some of the greatest movies of our time.  :D

Kill Bill 1 on Friday
Kill Bill 2 on Saturday
and Both on Sunday!

If you have not seen these movies you are missing out.

Haters be damned.

Won't the first one be about 3 minutes long after the TV censors get done with it?

I'm interested in seeing how badly cut these are.

Hell, I'm surprised they didn't just cut both of them together. I imagine the edited volumes are like twenty minutes each, tops. Pfffft.  ::)

I watched it last night. Didn't see it all, since I fell asleep afer awhile. What I saw was...mixed

The movie tried it's hardest to be witty and cool and shit, but it fell on its face constantly. The kung fu movies Kill Bill raided for ideas were cool in part because they weren't really trying. Tarantino tries too hard, and lots of the dialogue seems forced and just poorly executed.

When the movie got the style right, it was awesome. There are some parts in the movie that really blew me away. When my pot pie got done last night, I jumped up and ran into the kitchen to fix it as fast as possible. Then I started hearing all this kickass action in the living room; I figured another cool yet forced fight was going on, so I took my time getting my food ready. Then I come back into the living room and there's an anime on! That came out of nowhere, and was a cool way to do a flashback. 12 year old prostitute FTW!

There part where the Bride kills everyone in that restaurant was so amazing and so funny, I came. I've never seen anything that cool. From the hilarously bad (yet catchy) music the band was playing, to the whole "Charlie Brown" incident. Once the fighting started, DAMN. She cut off that chick's arm! Then stapped that hot asian babe in the head with a nail. It showed the nail inside her head as she fell down.

I feel asleep before she fought Lucy Lui though, and when I woke up TNT had already started a repeat showing of the movie. I'll try to watch the rest tonight.

Um, I really don't think Tarantino was trying too hard with the dialogue in Volume One AT ALL. If you've seen other QT movies, you know just when he's trying too hard (some moments in Jackie Brown) and when he's just throwing shit to the wall and seeing what sticks (Pulp Fiction).

Plus, Volume Two has all the great dialogue you'd ever need. Volume One is basically just the obligatory smack downs packed into an hour and thirty minutes.  ;)

Some of the camera angles were distinguished mentally-challenged too. The overhead view looked like shit to me, and it was used about 4 times!

Clearly I need to see this edited though. In the unedited version, is Uma ever nude, like when she's getting coma fucked? :hyper

No, never nude. And of course the film is gonna look like shit when you're watching a heavily edited boradcast version. Pick up the DVDs.

It's about that size. I rarely watch it though; just sports really.

I'm going to need to get another Comcast cable outlet put in my room. Right now I have one, and it's connected to my computer for internet. I'll get a TV, PS2 and use it as a DVD, and a Wii next year.

Holy shit, I walked downstairs awhile ago to do some more laundry, and the TV was still on (I leave it on as a decoy when I'm upstairs. College kids steal, or so I've heard...). Anyway when I get down this chick with an eye patch is about to fight the bride. They start fighting, and then get in a stalemate, which is broken when the bride rips the chick's eye out :lol

She starts flailing on the ground wtf :lol :lol

The two worst films of QT's career. His films have decreased in quality in a linear fashion. Although, I must say, I love Jackie Brown, and its definately underrated. Its hard to love KB when you've seen all the westerns that QT is ripping. Its not "homage" when you are ripping direct shots and scores from other movies, QT. Sure, hes been guilty of this on every film (City of Fire with RD, French New Wave flicks with PF, tons of Blaxploitation flicks with JB), but KB was the first one where it finally really bothered me.

Of the two though, Vol.2 is definately better.

Reading is FUN-damental! I never said I hated QT or his movies. I said they are getting worse relative to one another. KB is still better than most garbage from that year. But its subpar compared to his earlier works. I also said I love JB, and liked Vol.2. What a hater I am.
