Title: What's the best '80s action series?
Post by: Ichirou on June 16, 2007, 03:00:46 AM
Let me know if I missed any major (or minor) ones.  I know The Fall Guy already has at least one vote!

Magnum PI from that list for me! So awesome.

THE FALL GUY isn't bad either. Airwolf and A-Team had too much silly in them.

Airwolf that theme song was A+.

Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman were the 70s.

Shit, I remembered them being on TV when I was a kid so I just assumed they were from the eighties.  Heh, I remember wanting to buy some Six Million Dollar Man stickers for my bike when I was about six or seven, so that means it was still rather popular in the mid-eighties for there to be merchandise available for it.

MAGNUM P.I.

I've bought a bunch of the sets for my dad.

I could probably still tug off to Magnum.

I love the A-Team.  To this day.  Sheer awesomeness.

Every show was basically the same.  Some single mother/hooker with a heart of gold/unfairly blackmailed widow or some shit would need to hire the A-Team to fuck some illegal group's shit up.  Face would romance the chick, someone would end up getting captured and they'd be forced to build a ludicrous vehicle in order to rescue them.  This never got old.

I voted for Airwolf but that was the themesong talkin.

From a plotting standpoint nothing beats the A-Team.

The A-Team, while being a tremendously awesome show, is no Magnum.  Airwolf was alright during the Jan-Michael Vincent seasons.

I added it.  I forgot about that show.  My parents wouldn't let me watch it when I was a kid.

I hated most 80's action shows ... I preferred shows like Columbo, Equalizer and Rockford Files repeats.

But, Airwolf was probably my favorite of that bunch.

What I hated about almost all of those shows, is that the final scene was the good guy wrapping up the show. Then some comic relief would come in and end the show on a joke  ... the screen would freeze with all of them making stupid faces and then the credits would roll underneath while a bad outro played.

A-Team will own all.
