If there were no pronunciation instruction, FoC's head would probably explode as he tried to figure out how to pronounce it.  Toenails would go flying everywhere, lacerating everyone in the vicinity of his head.

None of the Ratatouille posters in Los Angeles that I saw today have the pronunciation guide.

This movie title makes me think of the Tripletts of Belleville ... then I get angry because I was duped into watching that shit because of the critics.

Damn critics :punch

I was told it was an amazing work of art and a landmark animated film by a film school student I know, only to be bored to tears.

I have never seen it, but I recall seeing a very interesting trailer on some DVD or another.  It at least looked really interesting.  Did it win all of its acclaim on nice looks?

I was intrigued because the cel quality looked similar to something that Ralph Bakshi would make, and that style of animation both frightens and excites me (there is something about that grainy cel look that is almost nightmarish).  Then I heard it was an amazing story with amazing visuals and that it's foriegn and amazing.  Did I mention it was amazing?

Instead, you get an incoherent film that drags on and on and on.  And on.

The background art in Triplets is very good, but I hated the character designs. They were all just soooooooo ugly.

Except the topless black girl in that old black and white show they were watching in the beginning.  :hyper

Am I the only person who thinks Ratatooly looks stupid? To make matters worse it follows Pixar's plot blueprint to the T

In a systematic, conformist society one rat dares to be different....

No, it looks like Cars. Something that looks stupid, but you will end up enjoying anyways.

I think there was some serious Francophilia going on.

The trailer was excellent, because the quick cuts and theme song made it seem dynamic.  The film itself is sloooooooow with no real dialog.  Not that the movie really needed dialog, but they don't do anything particularly inventive with the visuals.

FEARLESS PREDICTION:

The human wins great acclaim as a chef, lets it go to his head, takes the rat for granted, precipitating the third-act crisis.
