they can tout Fred Thompson as the next Reagan until they're blue in the face, but this party is toast in 2008.
as much as i dislike her, and as much as i think the country shares in that sentiment, i think even hillary could win against _any_ republican contender in 2008.
they just don't get it.
with the exception of ron paul, who's too fringe to be taken seriously by the electorate, none of them have come out and said what needs to be said:
this war is a fucking disaster that needs to end.
even some republican senators are beginning to see the writing on the wall.
look at luger, who was once a staunch supporter of the war effort. even he's come out and said that the war needs to end or republicans are TOAST.
you almost have to think, with this war and the immigration debacle, that bush is a plant.
of course, knowing his history, i don't.
but this guy has really fucked his party over.
i mean, you would think republicans would understand that:
a) the majority of the public, overwhelmingly, wants this war to end.
b) the longer we read stories of soldiers dying on a daily basis, the more remote of a chance the republicans have to take the white house in 2008.
it's a catch 22.
bush can't just up and leave, right?
if he stays, the american public grows increasingly disenchanted with the effort.
this is why i think the republican debates are superflous.
who gives a shit what your positions on immigration or healthcare are.
the public wants out.
if you're not going to take a position that agrees with that view, you aren't going to win the general election.
sure, you'll win the primaries, where fanatical holdouts still cling to the absurd fantasy that this war is good for the campaign against "terror."
but when the general election rolls around, you are going to get steamrolled by a public that is fed up.
and by that time, it'll be too late.
sure, there'll be some here who'll say that the republicans are just currying favor with their base, defending the war because they know supporters of the war are going to the polls in those states that matter.
again, by that time, it will be too little too late.
the public will see through their charade, and they will vote for the democrat.
right now, i think either al gore or obama are going to win the presidency, with me leaning towards the former.
i want obama, but i think al gore only has to throw his hat in the ring to end this.
once he's in, with the public aware of what COULD HAVE BEEN had bush not stolen the presidency, al gore will blow the competition away.

GOOD GAWD MAN.
USE SOME PARAGRAPHS!
-
futami, 99% of your posts are unreadable.
-
I think that post was self-parody.
-
you guys ever read a newspaper column?
at most, you'll find a 2 or 3 sentence paragraph in one.
many of them use one sentence "paragraphs."
it's not my fault you're looking at the screen in a full window.
anyway, respond to the topic.
-
HOW DO I READ POST
-
republicans are fine, they've got ties with the electronic voting machine makers.

futami, I only read the first two lines of everyone of your posts. You might make good points at the bottom of your post but I never get there.

what i don't understand about gripes aired over my writing style, is this:
they're easier to read than someone who packs it all in one or two paragraphs.
they're morsels, small bites of thought that one can digest without being overwhelmed.
you just go from line to line.
-
you just go from line to line.
:lol
-
Line breaks tend to create a rythm when reading (see:poetry) but when the content is essentially prosaic it becomes annoying.
but what of the topic?
your thoughts, i desire.
-
No one read it

No one read it
why?

Read the responses you got, and the thread about how you can't write.
-
I'm calling futami to be lepered. Come on people junpei and PD are way better than him.
-
The idea you bring up Al Gore getting the nomination shows how little you know about politics.
Al Gore is NOT getting in the race, Hillary Clinton very likely will get the nomination. Her opponet will be either Mitt Romney or Fred Thompson.

i can't write?
lol.
right.
why don't you guys make your windows smaller?
that should lend the illusion of paragraphs.

Al Gore has every reason to get into the race.
He would win by a landslide.

What's this leper shit.

leper status means:
1. lose topic making privileges.
2. only 3 posts allowed per 5 day period.
3. posts can only be made in threads that author designates leper friendly.

STOP DOUBLE SPACING THIS IS NOT HIGH SCHOOL!! IT'S INTARWEBS!!111

that doesn't mean he wants to. He does not like politics anymore. All of his closest advisors and friends say with 100% certainy he does not want to run for president. He ain't and the nominee will be Hillary likely.

i hope hillary isn't the nominee, but she'll win if she is.
there's absolutely no chance, outside of naked malfeasance, that a republican will win the white house in 2008.

Gore wouldn't win
in a landslide
and
I disagree
that the most important issue
will be
immediate withdrawal

Ann Coulter got
owned a few days ago
by Elizabeth Edwards,
in case you didn't see it,
here it is.

wow, people here are already rooting for others that they don't like to be banned or segregated, and then they have the gall to tell how unfair cigarillo is? it's the same goddamn herd behavior
eat a fucking dick y'all
-
jotaro should be banned for saying ya'll
-
jotaro should be banned for being jotaro
fixed!
-
Why is the method that someone uses to write his paragraphs so important? It's a carefree forum where people fuck around for their own entertainment in their idle time, it's not like we're writing a doctoral thesis.
-
I agree
that
the way one structures their posts
should not be cause for banning
but
it is pretty annoying
to read
if
you want people to read it
y'all

Wow you guys seriously bitch more than GAF.

if you're going to mock me, at least employ some semblance of mimicry.
i don't write like that.
i use perfect grammar, punctuation, and complex sentence structure.
anyway, the american public overwhelmingly opposes the war in iraq.
of course, it will be the defining issue of the 2008 presidential campaign.
-
First, I can do whatever the fuck I want, so go suck a dick; second, your capitalization and use of commas is in no way "perfect," and should not be described as such; third, it's not even the "defining issue" among primary voters, nor was it the defining issue for the last Presidential election (arguably, either terrorism was or "moral" issues were); fourth, go suck a fucking dick.

uh, my use of commas is perfect.
as well, the lack of capitalization is a stylistic choice, something you already knew.
and 2006 was defined by the war, just as 2008 will be.
unless there is a full withdrawal, the republican party stands no chance of returning to the white house in 2008.
First, I can do whatever the fuck I want, so go suck a dick
his first sentence, yet this twerp dares to suggest my grammar is poor.
risible.
-
How dare you suggest my stylistic choices are incorrect? How dare you sir?? (BTW, sentence fragment)
2006 was defined by dissatisfaction with status-quo governance, and in particular disenchantment within the Republican party itself over a variety of issues.

I couldn't read through all of that post either...
