Title: Why do people think Die Hard 2 sucks?

Not as good as the first of course, but Vengence was my first one, and you know how you usually tend to side with the first ones you viewed. Easily 2 & 1 > 3.

Post by: CajoleJuice on January 13, 2008, 11:05:12 PM: I obviously enjoy 2 a lot (more than most sane people), but it's not as quotable as the other two nor does it have as good a sidekick as either of the other two. 2 might be the "grittiest" of the series, actually.

Post by: Phoenix Dark on January 14, 2008, 10:09:23 AM: 2 is quite a jarring experience after seeing 1 and 3. While all three films are over-the-top, Die Harder takes everything to the EXTREME. If there was ever a blueprint for producers looking to make a generic, over bloated action film Die Harder would be it. I'm not saying it's horrible - it's still McClain kicking ass, and unlike Vengeance it has CARL - but it's just too crazy for me. I'd give it a 6, which is a below average score but doesn't mean it's some abortion. I would imagine that if I was some Die Hard fanatic in the 80s I'd be more disappointed with it at the time, but certainly not as pissed as Hellraiser fans must have been when its sequel came out

You didn't see ANY of them till last year and claim OoTP is the worst Potter film. Don't act all high and mighty!

2 & 4 are considered the weakest ones, and mctiernan didn't direct those. hopefully he'll back for 5--assuming he's not in jail, lol.

but yeah, he's only made 2 movies after that, and one of them was basic, which is actually a 15 minute film because everything before the last 15 minutes is completely irrelevant.
