I was playing some GoW with Megafoo and the damn thing freezes. So I restart and about 3 minutes into it, it freezes again. So I take off the hard drive and play it in single player. Its good for about 6 minutes and then it freezes again. Well fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck fuck.
I hope my HDD is still good. I'll test that out Sunday with a friends 360. If it is, I'll just buy a core on sunday.
I hope my HD DVD player still works in the meantime.

Awesome, wrong forum.
-
Did it make any sounds?
-
nope. no funny sounds
-
Are you getting any red lights on the console? Or those dashed vertical lines on the screen when it freezes? I'd try some other games for the hell of it.
-
Did your disk drive make clicking sounds?
-
Go to the System blade, go to memory, press Y, press XX Right Bumper Left Bumper XX to defragment your hard drive and try playing again. It sounds like the system it'sself is crapping out though.

dashed vertical lines
No clicking sounds
I just tried defragging the hard drive and it still froze. I tried playing it with no Hard Drive too. still froze.
This sucks. I've got a PS3 that can't read discs and a 360 that freezes

dashed vertical lines
Video card overheating. :( Same happened to my first 360. Call for the coffin, bro. On the bright side, the 360s nowadays seem to be free of this shit, so at least the one they'll give you in exchange will be solid.

Go to Costco!

I never noticed the color of the power supply LED. It kinda looks orange, but maybe it's just not supposed to be that bright.
Valis, you say that's definitely the video card overheating? :(
And no Costco around here

Yeah, that's what I heard. The vertical lines are a pretty common problem on older units. Call tonight or tomorrow, you'll probably get your coffin by Tues/Wed and get a refurbed 360 back by the following week.

Shit, it seems like it's a problem with my HD DVD drive. I unplugged it from the 360 and ran the 360 with no HDD and no HD DVD drive, it worked fine. Put the HDD back in. Worked fine. Put the HD DVD drive back on, froze up about 30 seconds later on the dashboard. Fuck.
-
Refund that? Can you still?
-
Yep. I took it back today, plugged in my new HD DVD drive and it works perfectly. Hot fucking shit.
-
weird. good news though.
