Well, the guest we were going to have on this episode had something come up last-minute and couldn't be with us (he'll be on the next episode), so we were forced to cobble up show topics about an hour before we started recording. This is what you get. The good news is, one of us is looped on over-the-counter cold medicine and one of us is hammered on over-the-counter cheap beer. We rambled on so long we had enough leftover material for our first Borecast Bonuscast™, which will go up on Monday evening.
Topics include the gory history of Valentine's Day, Christian Bale, The Dark Knight, Harry Knowles, Wii Fit and our horrible Wii game ideas, porno video games, and listener mail...

My thoughts:
+ Far more focused this time. This podcast removed much of the meandering conversation that dominated the first episode. I think it is because there is more that you guys offered this time around.
+ Better topics. Again, the first episode or first product of anything will be rough around the edges so nice progression. Next one sounds like an improvement from this.
- The dramatic reading sucked. It was like an audio version of cheeseburger surprise.

i'd like to do a huge videogame blowout episode sometime in the near future, maybe a broad topic show with segments recorded at different times/days and assembled later (something that wouldn't sound dated if it went up a week or so after it was recorded), so we could get some board regulars on there
might be something we could do a couple of times a year, if we could work it where it's convenient for everyone time-wise and doesn't intrude on anyone's real lives (including ours)
prole and i have discussed it a little before, we'll let you guys know
we like games (obviously), and we'll probably give them at least a passing mention in just about every episode, but there's already around a thousand videogame-centric podcasts out there, so if we do an episode based solely on the subject we'd like it to be a broader show anyone could listen to and get something out of - we're a general interest podcast for the most part
and if you like the show, do us a favor and tell people - i have no grand delusions, and would be overjoyed if we could get to the point of having a couple hundred regular listeners

I liked the first episode a good deal better. The Christian Bale stuff qualifies as "celebrity news".....which is always pretty mind-numbing to me. The Wii/Fluffer jokes felt double-dated since humor surrounding both fluffing as a profession and humor about Wii-as-sex-device are both pretty played out at this point.
I liked the Valentine's Day history and the netbooks-redux though, and I recognize that this installment had to be a little meandering since your special guest bailed out at the last minute. Keep on trucking, guys.

I thought it was pretty awesome. In fact, the very last segment about George R.R. Martin made me laugh my ass off and it is rare to get me to laugh about anything from the internet.

bi-weekly for the most part, but i guess there will be times when one comes right after the other
for instance, i think episode 3 will be next week because we have a guest - but there will probably be a show-less week after that
to be honest i really can't handle editing a weekly podcast at the moment (although i did cut my time by a third from the first to second show), and it does take a decent chunk of our time to record, so we really don't want this to stop being fun and become a chore that starts intruding on our normal lives

maybe it's because i used the # sign in the title, rss feeds have trouble with symbols and such
at least it's on there, now
i've been adding it to rss feed search engines and directories like crazy

It's not on the marketplace, I found out you can just add random RSS feeds in the podcast section of Zune.
The double entry is also fixed, only thing left is the symbols he fucks up.

Listening to the bonus cast, I think so far this is the most entertaining one yet... Section about meeting women and singles ads is GREAT! Agree with everything you've said (especially with the "ask a friend to read the profile before you post it"), but meeting at the gym isn't that great, btw.. Most girls are listening to their iPods and usually don't want to be interrupted. And also, the build section you have to watch out for... a lot will say "athletic and toned" or "average", but will give you an Angle shot (and in real life they are built like a tank).
I have high expectations for the next episode section on PUAs, don't let me down folks...

I thought the Bonuscast was better than Episode 2. The segment on Internet personals was pretty good, though I'm surprised there wasn't more to be said as so many people create the most distinguished mentally-challenged profiles.
Here are my most favorite fuck-ups (posted on this forum before I think, but still good):

I was raped when I was fourteen. Although I usually tell people it doesn't bother me, in truth it has affected my life profoundly in very negative ways. Because my innocence was stolen from me in such a violent way, I am inable to equate sex with love in any fashion. The two concepts are opposites for me, though I engage in them both with great enthusiasm. I hope someday to meet someone who can show me the true meaning of Making Love. Until then, however, I will always be a broken person, and that is something that everyone that comes close to me has to deal with in their own way. i thought one of those text-to-speech things would be funny, i had some leftover cuts from the first edit that i thought were good but a bit out of place, and i didn't want to waste them
then i found some indian music which gave me the giggles when i started mixing it with the text-to-speech voice
glad you guys liked it, i wasn't sure, most stuff that makes me laugh only draws blank stares from others
it would probably lose its charm quickly if it were a regular thing, but the bonuscasts will likely be a "once in a great while" type thing

Heart episode 2. Voice-wise, Neither Drinky nor Eel sounded like I expected. Tone-wise, Eel was about right, and Drinky seemed a bit off until the subject of the Wii arose. :lol

Episode 2 was good. Bonuscast was also good, but tbh, that robotic Indian voice was a bit corny.

- Topics were more interesting. I understand there's a lot of fantasy novel fans and tech nerds but it isn't my cup of tea. The Bonuscast did away with both of these topics for the most part. If they were in there, it was minimal.
- It was funnier. That online dating rant didn't seem bitter at all because pointing out the delusions of these ads are always funny.
- It just seemed focused. I don't think this was the intention but the meandering conversation was cut down significantly.
