WTF. I never really liked this game when it came out -- Mario 64 shat into its filthy, ugly mouth and made it beg for seconds -- but TODAY it's just plain rancid, both in mechanics and visuals. Fucking Sega whoremensch. The dynamic soundtrack is fuckall awesome, and the simple looping play is a decent enough old-school mechanic, but everything else -- character design, boss battles, the on-foot pseudo-3D shit and its miserable camera, the 3D in general -- it's like eighteen inches of bearcock up my refined gamer butthole. Has Yuji Naka EVER made a good game that wasn't Sonic 2?

It only has like 5 levels, too. You can easily dinner for one it.

You didn't like Sonic 3?

I'd have to agree with Drinky on this one.
In all honesty, I think the Sonic Team is the most overrated development team in videogame history. From the beginning i've always felt the Sonic games were just ok. The later ones complete horseshit.
Nights is just overrated, plain and simple. To even compare it to Mario 64 is like slapping the face of your own mother.

I played it a few times and just didn't get it. Some weird kid in shorts running around upside down. Did this game ship with free LSD or something. I think I missed out. I bet the game rocks if youre trippin balls.

Nights indeed sucked. I bought a Saturn over a PSX at first lol. PSX was the last of the 3 systems that gen I got.
-
Draw-in or pop-in was a feature in NiGHTS. =|
A lot of Saturn games which were underrated in their time are now overrated because of the internet. What the fuck is that about?

Amen, Sonic 2, cream of the crop
NiGHTS is overrated yeah. I don't hate it, but it's not the omg fuck awesome game people tout it as, I probably wouldn't even be excited for a sequel really

Like Crazy Taxi, it brings back the days of competing for high scores. That's one of the reasons I love it.
Then again I've only played it a few times so this could be nostalgia overwhelming me or something

Remember that dumb special controller for it lol.

When I think about the state of Sega... I chuckle to myself.

THANK YOU
This game was a god dammned over hyped piece of shit. I still remember when it was out and Sega marketed as something for more mature, smart gamers compared to the childish tripe of Crash. Well Crash>>>>Nights by far.
I went to a hotel expecting to have cable TV and they tried to sell me on CSPAN and UPN. That's in essence what Sega did to millions of gamers with this terrible piece of gutter trash. It can be argued that Nights created the gaming ghetto

Nights sucked. Crash sucked. Mario 64 sucked too. They all sucked. I hated the direction platformers went in after the 16-bit era. I think the only 32-bit era platformer I thought was really cool at that time was Jumpining Flash!.

Crash sucked. Mario 64 sucked too.
