I just had a bunch, my ME3 Multiplayer performance was greatly affected so I kinda logged off. I wonder if they could tell.

I actually read somewhere that the aspirationall classes only drink wine.IPA :yuck

European Union regulations allow for more than 50 different flavourings, additives, preservatives and agents to be added to wine. Only sulphites, which are used as preservatives and have a possible causal link to asthma, have to be listed on labels.
Among the additives which can be added without listing are clay, acid, artificial yeasts, enzymes, sugar, gelatin, and charcoal. Eggs and a milk protein called casein can also be used, while another permitted additive is the fish bladder extract, isinglass.
Additives are added to many of the most popular brands. The Australian winemaker Hardys adds yeast to its merlot and also uses egg, milk and gelatin to 'fine' the wine – making it less cloudy. Jacob's Creek uses tartaric and ascorbic acid in its chardonnay, along with clay, enzymes and milk powder to fine the wine. Monsanto/Blossom Hill sometimes adds tartaric acids, GM enzymes and tannins to the grape juice. It also uses yeast nutrients and malolactic bacteria during fermentation of its standard red wine.
Rauchbier is probably the only beer I detest, tried having one with some meat but it was still too smokey.
Whats bieres de gardes?
A lager can be really nice when youre thirsty or when its warmish, wouldnt quench my thirst with an ale or some belgian beer.
ITS THAT TIME OF WEEK AGAIN! BEEEEEEEER! Mr Gundam tipped me off on some beer going outta style in WA- grabbed some bottles for myself- awww yeah beer n xcom n sleepeh dawgz

Not going out of style, Russian River just decided they don't want to deal with WA liquor laws that doesn't let them be pretentious little fucks and keep their beer limited to their friends.
Didn't you use to go nuts on Mountain Dew?
Who else here is using Untappd?

It sucks that the area my main bar is in has such spotty reception. Going to 2 bdays this weekend so I'll definitely be checking some new stuff in!
I have it installed! I dunno what else to do. Also cant wait for mill creek beerathon - I live right next to that place almost so WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Double Brown is some of the cheapest shit you can buy here. You do learn to love it though.

The keg.
I killed it.
Best IPA.
Suck it haters.
I'm sure it's been posted before what what's everyone's untapped usernames or whatever?I'm chronovore there as well.

I added you guys, now go drink some beer!
Going to Book of Mormon tonight. Pine Box for drinks and appetizers before the show and Brave Horse Tavern for drinks and dinner afterwards. :rock
untappd sucks. it can't find any of the bars that i go to.
I would honestly lick someones ass for a beer right now :'( No money until tomorrow :'(If you try Geek's Breakfast by a little gypsy brewery somewhere in the USA, you can pay US$13 for the feeling of having accomplished both at the same time: you'll have had a beer which tastes like licking someone's ass.
Never even SEEN that before. Are you traveling again?
You drink a lot of nice beers, but is it job related? Didnt you make some career switch?
Yeah, Seattle had good coffee and good beer before the rest of the west coast. I think I had Red Hook ESB on tap at some Fremont place in '90 or so. Yummy.
Tried to order a beer at the yakitori place last night, but the chef knew I was coming and had sake on standby for me. Great night, but no Untappd update. :lol
(http://i.imgur.com/azzZ5jP.jpg)Fuck,that Cantillon is getting so hard to buy now. I'm going to need to start grey marketing the shit.
YES. Peche n Brett is best beer.

Sake is brewed. I think you can check it in on Untappd. I've seen root beer and mead, so I'm guessing sake is there, too.
Look at that, you can! It's considered "Speciality Grain."
Beer bros, is pumpkin ale any good?
Beer bros, is pumpkin ale any good?Your hopes will be squashed!
Tried peach lambic finally (after checking it out at stores forever.) It's pretty good. Very sweet, but it goes down and stays down way better than cider, wine, wine coolers, hard lemonade, etc.
More beer last night than I've had since leaving California.
I had several Japanese craft beer IPAs which I had never even heard of:
Hokkaido's North Island IPA from the eponymous brewery, and Shonan's Topaz IPA, which may have been my winner for the evening. I also had American Brewery's Breakaway IPA, which was smooth and beautiful, but had a hard time keeping up with the force of the first beer. Two of each of all those. I also had AmericanBlonde, which was a sour beer, and I abandoned it after only a few sips -- nine bucks sacrificed to my curiosity, would have preferred another Topaz.
Tried my first beer in a bit (whole family's sick with flu); I'm at about 70% recovered, so thought I'd start with something really tame.
Mystic Peach - utterly crap. All the subtlety of a Bartles and Jaymes wine cooler.
IN BETTER NEWS, by some miracle, the local, podunk mall has got Bear Republic beers in stock. I am going to grab some tomorrow. ¥700/bottle, so I'm not going to go too crazy.
12 oz. ¥700 yen.
I know, I know.
:'( :'( :'(
THIS RACER 5 IS SO FUCKING GOOD.
Honestly, it didn't bowl me over. Don't build it up too much in your head.
For IIPA, I like Firestone's Double Jack.
Yup yup.
Elysian has a new sour on tap at their brew pubs right now. Super tart 4% base with puréed peaches and dry hopped with Citra. Sooo good.
I need to sort out the drinking situation in my new hood. Lots of pubs, a full throttle bottle shop out west in Georgetown. I drank a lot of beer last night at the Sounders game. Between the bullshit calls and the Sounders just not playing their best I was ready to buy some 8 dollar beers :/
That's some beer cost :(
You get banned from GAF or something? Random that you'd show up here.
You get banned from GAF or something? Random that you'd show up here.
nah, not banned
i dont think it's that random for me to show up on a thread about beer tho, haha, but the site in general, just has a lot of people i know from the GAF-hop community thread. neogaf is getting boring for me with a couple obvious exceptions like beer and hiphop OTs. gaming side threads are a lot of meaningless topics about BS. or fanboy angst about minutia. plus seems like free-speech is encouraged more here, less uptight if you will :D
I was so happy when the old GAF thread was retired, along with my updates on it. Now I know not to go into that thread. It's like some sub-clique of the band hall nerds that can't stand most of the other band hall nerds.
Anyway:
BEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR
Oh yeah, what other beers did they have at Costco.
I had the Grapefruit Slam from that Stochastic line of beers. It was fabulous.
This month's GQ Japanese edition has about 1/3 of the articles dedicated to Japan's approach to the craft beer movement. Kirin is making their own line of craft beers. Suntory has already been putting some decent dunkels into stores, and more craft beer spots are opening in Osaka. Now I just have to earn some scratch to be able to avail myself of it as frequently as I'd like. ;)

Say no to crafty beer.
Those really aren't crafty. Crafty is stuff like Blue Moon. Made by the big guys but they do their best to hide it.
Good news: Hop Rod Rye, Sculpin IPA, and Robijn Rood were all half off on close-out, so I picked up the entire stock. :hyper
Bad news: Even at half off, the six bottles were well over $20, the shelf-date is iffy, and it looks like the store's not going to carry Bear Republic any longer. :'(
Gundam did you pick up any Founder's or Bell while in Michigan?
Any local craft options available?
Duchesse de Bourgone is GROSS. Tastes like bile.Ooh, thanks for warning me off that. I've seen it at the local super and been curious a few times, but hadn't yet tried it.
Sorry to casual up your thread, but it's pumpkin beer season and New Belgium's Pumpkick ain't so bad. Tastes a bit like pumpkin pie filling without being sweet. 6% ABV so it's not a watered down 6 pack.
That attitude is just as annoying, breh.
I do drink for taste. Most of the big adjunct lagers have way too much of that sweet corn flavor. And go ahead and drink what you like, I don't care. Doesn't bother me one bit.

MJ wasn't there when I saw it. I figured my use of "breh" would help imply that I wasn't taking it too serious.
I've had a couple Great Lakes beers when back in DC or the midwest. Commodore Perry, Edmund Fitzgerald. I know that's their standard lineup stuff.
No distribution out here and I'm not interested in trading, but I'll keep it in mind when I'm somewhere that gets their stuff.

Dumpster fest.
Hoppy beers.
Gundam style.
:rejoice
Man, why must beer trading overseas via the internet be so complicated.
I so wanna try the Maine Beer Company shit.
as I am "impossible to shop for" (probably not a surprise for most here), my mother in law and I have agreed to her getting me a beer stein* every birthday/christmas. Up to two now :rejoice
*The stein ofc must be made in germany as stein are meant to be.

Mapped out the gameplan for Chrono's little beer tour. Toronado by my house and then off to the Eastside for Black Raven Brewing and Tap House in Bellevue since Eastside Bore refuses to leave their suburban sprawl nightmare of an existence. [sigh]
Yeah. I picked up Chrono on my way home yesterday. We hung out with my wife and drank a Pliny the Elder at our house while complaining about the election, and then headed over to Bellevue to see Cruncheon and Treesong at Tap House Grill. Then we went to Black Raven Brewing in Redmond. ALL THE BEERS WERE CONSUMED.
Russian River Pliny the Elder
Breakside Wanderlust IPA
Boneyard RPM IPA
Bear Republic Tartare Rouge
Black Raven Trickster IPA with Coffee and Vanilla Beans (cask)
Black Raven Gunpowder Plot (porter with coffee beans and cocoa nibs soaked in Bourbon) on nitro
Black Raven Nothing But Flowers Session IPA
No ghosts were harmed during the course of the night.
Picked up a bottle of Ruination yesterday... first time having it and yeah, it's pretty damn good. I'm not that big on IPAs but the taste really shone through past the hops.Despite Van Cruncheon’s irrational and cruel character assassination of IPAs, there is a wide variety within the style.

Thanks to Mr Gundam, I was able to enjoy these two lovely beers with my sister. A brother and sister enjoyed The Brother and The Sister. Yay!

do go on. no idea who that is, or if this is seen as a bad move, all i know is there will be more stories likes this in coming years, not less.
I'd also suggest Minoh, Oh! La! Ho! And Tamamura Honten/Shiga Kogen.
Where at in Japan? Ushitora in Shimokitazawa (Tokyo) is my favorite bar.

Headed to Cabo San Lucas in the morning for a few days. Staying at an all-inclusive resort so much Tecate and Tecate Light will be consumed, but there are actually two craft breweries in town: Baja Brewing and Ramuri. I've had a bunch from Baja before and they're not great, but I've heard really good things abotu Ramuri before.
Also stoked for some more Dos Equis Radlers. Aw yeah.

https://twitter.com/goodbeerhunting/status/558714823740227586That's sad. Lagunitas is one of my favorite breweries, but it sounds like the guy has a bad attitude.
Stay salty, stay cunty.
Apparently AB wants Cigar City next...

Got to try some Pliny the Elder. Awww yisssMr Gundam had some on standby when I visited Seattle in November. It’s even harder to find in WA, so I was touched by this rape-dumpster-free means of winning my affection. It is indeed a tasty brew.
Friend from USA is in Japan, interviewing for a job. Ended up hitting two craft places last night. It was all super great last night, this morning my head is telling me I overdid it a little.
:yuck
Found Minoh's new Harakiri X IPA to be absolutely great. Better than their W-IPA.
I received a bottle of Westvleteren 12. Let's see if it's as good as people claim.

It's good, but lower your expectations.
Not many people know this, but those hops in your favorite IPA are actually wonderful medicine for insomnia and menopause, thanks to their high phytoestrogen content. These same phytoestrogens, however, might be less desirable for men, as indicated by the common condition known among brewers as Brewer’s Droop.
Yes, you read that right: Hops are giving men man boobs.
In the book Sacred and Herbal Healing Beers, herbalist Stephen Herrod Buhner describes the three standard uses of hops in herbal medicine: as a sleep inducer; as a diuretic that successfully promotes urine flow; and finally, as a natural source of phytoestrogen to treat menopause and endometriosis. The herbalist Susan Weed also refers to hops as a nutritive painkiller, a sleep-inducing herb, and as an effective supplement to boost milk production in lactating women.
So it finally happened : AB Inbev is buying SAB Miller for 112 billion euros.
Hail our new fermentation overlords.
I had a Brewdog Punk IPA and it wasn't bad.
Sorry Chrono.
Suntory, the macro which happens to be nearest to where I live, has been producing "crafty beers" all year long. They've been half-measures against competence, but I've tried every one which came out. Finally on 12/15 they launched an American IPA, which I just had.
It's as uninspired as anything else in their line-up.
I'm going out tonight to meet a new friend to talk about RPGs over actual craft beers.
I WILL FEEL LIKE THIS DOGGY!

Whats wrong boo
My area just suddenly started stocking Hamm's everywhere for some reason. 6 pack of tallboys for $2.99 over the past week. The regular price is $3.29. How the fuck can you turn that shit down?
My area just suddenly started stocking Hamm's everywhere for some reason. 6 pack of tallboys for $2.99 over the past week. The regular price is $3.29. How the fuck can you turn that shit down?
How? Easy! Because life's too short for bad beer.
It's about the same quality as other domestics like Bud/Miller/Coors, but almost half the price. It's not like I'm talking about Ice House or Steel Reserve.
Bud/Miller/Coors don't really taste GOOD, but they're cheaper and not bad enough to not drink. PBR and Hamm's also taste pretty similar. None are like WOW THIS TASTES SO GOOD, but none are bad enough that you won't drink them if you want to get drunk. Even Busch is pretty gross as well, but I've had plenty of craft or specialties that were much much grosser and much much more expensive.
I ain't drinking beer to improve my personality :foxx
You'll never escape the macro-brew overlords.
Hey Chrono,
Fremont is now distributing to Japan via Evergreen Imports. I've asked the owner if Osaka will see any or it is just gonna be Tokyo. Ask at your local bars!
Also, you might know, but are any Japanese beer places kid friendly? Addie will be coming with us in April, and I honestly never remember seeing kids anywhere we went. You know, I rarely see kids, but AFAIK, they are all kid-friendly. Bars aren't but the craft beer spots seem to be gastro-pub-ish in nature. That Craft Beer Base place we hit in Umeda is run by a Mom who owns several places. A really nice one that is the newly-reopened dIG BEER BAR is right across from a park.
Just googled it as I never heard of that one tbh, it's at 32% Tbf sounds like it has potential to be more enjoyable over a longer period of time compared to bismark.
Edit: brewdog have their own show, what the actual fuck haha.
Man, that feels kinda weird. Thanks for sharing though. Is the show any good? Trailer doesnt actually give me high hopes.
Out of curiosity how did you get on with the scottish accents?
My life has revolved around craft beer for the past 3 years now.. maybe i should lurk/post hereMr Gundam is your only friend there, in Sours Land.

I'm starting to shift toward stouts, enjoy saisons, still love hoppy IIPAs, but cannot abide sours yet.

I had Backwoods Bastard last night. That was some good shit.
I'll be hitting the same venue tonight with the visiting Mr. Gundam, so I might try to convince him to get a hometown brew while in Tokyo. :lol
