Too many good games. I'm already crying because I know I won't be able to get my hands on this. :(

But they should have included The Lost Vikings! My favorite game ever.

aren't those most of the FX chip games for the SNES?

I guess they bought out/licensed the tech for that, which is the reason we haven't actually gotten any sort of fully accurate re-release of any of those games since then. That's frigging awesome. Hell, getting a perfect version of Yoshi's Island alone is a big deal.

We aren’t providing specific numbers, but we will produce significantly more units of Super NES Classic Edition than we did of NES Classic Edition.

Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition is currently planned to ship from Sept. 29 until the end of calendar year 2017.

Chrono, if you want to get super nitpicky. Super Mario All-Stars but I understand why they wouldn't include something like that.

I assume Rare evangelists are somewhere on the internet currently complaining about DKC 1 getting a spot instead of 2 or 3 but those people should jump into a volcano.

Please don't be the butchered GBA version of Yoshi's Island.

If it's the original version then that list of games is lit as fuck. My only complaint is they should have swapped DKC with DKC2.

Great lineup, I'd have replaced Dream Course with CT though, Dream Course is definitely the weak link on that list. Starfox 2 getting an 'official' release is neat too.

They already sold out in the UK. 🙄

I don't want the NA version because it isn't nostalgic looking to me. Super Famicom Mini  just got announced in Japan though, and has some different games. But won't be released until October. (JP and EU had the same design.)

Can't you even get it secondhand? Most were scalped here, so they're still being sold secondhand. But I know it never reached some European countries that had it up for preorder.

How good did the controllers of the classic nes feel? Because two legit SNES controllers to play those games would be great and a reason to buy the SNES Classic. My old snes controllers are falling apart and none of the aftermarket copies has felt right to me.

I think the NES ones were basically recreations of the original?

You could also buy them separately for $10. Though I think those all sold out too.

SNES ones will apparently have an extra two feet of length on the cables.

They were pretty GOAT imo. I hope these are a little bigger than the famicom mini, because they were so tiny it was really hard to use them. They also weighed less than their cable, so it felt a bit weird holding them.

Longer than this, I think about 7 feet, at least the pal versions.

I believe 8bit do does a decent wireless copy of the SNES controller, although the diagonals on the dpad aren't perfect (but good enough for a majority of people judging from gaf threads).

8bitdo wireless SNES pads are god-tier. Add a Retro Receiver (https://www.analogue.co/pages/8bitdo-x-analogue-snes) and you got pure SNES wireless gaming.

Hopefully they make a SNES Classic adapter or something.

The pal version has Contra and Starfox instead of probotector and Starwing + games that were nether released in the EU, so I'd assume it's just the same software and emulation as in the US. But who knows, Nintendo might make the extra effort and include lower quality emulation is the cases where it's available  :doge

Because of the smaller size, they became a bit too light. But in general they feel the same.

Listen, we all know people aren't really buying these for the games, which have been available for free (illegally) with little fuss for 20+ years.

People buy it because it's simple and it's an official Nintendo product. Consoles vs. PCs on a micro level.

Personally, while I hard-passed the NES Classic, I'll try to get one of these because I like the idea of displaying a tiny SNES in my living room. So much so, I'm already doing it:

But there's still some appeal to having the games digitally, not buying expensive carts off eBay, not changing carts, and not worrying about save batteries dying.

The SNES as a system means a lot to me (:nerds) and I like displaying it as part of my identity. :expert

Plus if I get a final version of StarFox 2 instead of the alpha ROM floating around the net, all the better. :idont

I get the Raspberry Pi recommendations, I have one myself. The major difference here is that this is a fully legal method of purchasing old software directly from the company and supports retro gaming in a legitimate fashion.

Also this won't have issues with compatibility, won't require any setup, and the OS is far superior for navigation. Sure you can get a Pi 3 and play everything, or you can buy this and just play what you were really only going to play anyways.

It's a nice piece of nostalgia to have for the art-look department, but it's impractical in the age of being able to emulate everything. Unless they took the mini-NES hacking to heart and are going to offer publishers a chance to "virtual console" their stuff a la Netflix on this mini-SNES to where you can "buy legal" ROMs to emulate on the system switching them out as you desire, it's less value than the Rasp Pi.

So... why not cut out the Nintendo middleman and just get a RaspPi? I say that as someone that has hacked a PSP, Vita, X-box, etc. to play other console games. It's simply not worth it in an age of paying about $30 less for something that can do far more.

Usually I don't get involved with "discussions", but

Anything can be made by hand, so are people supposed to not buy products from companies they like just because 1) Some other guy doesn't like the idea 2) Everything can be created if you "truly want it"?

I want it because it's nostalgic, cute and retro. And I want it because it's made and sold by the same company that made the original product that pretty much shaped my childhood. The SNES was my first console, and god forbid me not mind giving Nintendo some of my money for a feel-good product.

I'm sorry a console makes you so uncomfortable. I like the raspberry pi, but that argument is getting old. It's a project, you can't compare a project to an official product that people are mostly buying as a collector's item.

Each to his own.

I'm convinced you've never owned a Pi. Pis are great but initial setup is a pain in the ass and there's all sorts of bullshit compatibility issues with third party controllers and accessories. It's not plug 'n play and frankly rocket science to 99% of the consumer market who are interested in it. If this little overpriced device gets the vast majority of people excited about retro gaming, has the best UX, works out of the box with everything you need, and is filled with top tier games; it's clearly the better product for most people.

I'm not telling you to stop thievin'. I'm just saying, if you're being paid above minimum wage you're probably adult enough to buy your entertainment.

In the pre-min NES world I would've been ecstatic about this. After that whole fiasco? Nah, not gonna bother getting any hopes of getting one.
Can't you even get it secondhand? Most were scalped here, so they're still being sold secondhand. But I know it never reached some European countries that had it up for preorder.
Oh I totally could, but it comes down to a matter of cost. I'm willing to pay $60 for a cute rom box. Hell, I'd probably go up to $80. But I'm not going to pay $200+ which is what people are asking.

But that's not the point.  People want the SNES Mini because it's nostalgic and collectable just like the original was.

we get it. building your own lil machine can be satisfying and cool, is more general purpose THE POSSIBILITIES R ENDLESS. but what are the practicalities?

SNES Classic: roms installed and tested with better (read: accurate) emulation than any other emulation available, built and housed w nice a e s t h e t i c s, 2 controllers - $140

NZD not USD:
RPi Model A+ (equiv-ish to nes mini spec) - $45
2x Generico USB SNES controllers - minimum $40
microsd card - $10
nice-ish case $20
5 - 10 hours at least getting everything setup depending on how nitpicky you are about having a nice to use setup: order components, put together hardware, dl, install and configure loads of shit (OS, drivers, emulators, roms, patches), develop custom settings for each rom, package roms up with custom settings, have different games running on different emus coz zsnes won't work well for everything and you will possibly encounter game breaking bugs at points in the game anyway, but you can also get the maybe better versions of games e.g. GBA FFVI patched with SNES sound (probably not worth it for slightly better translation/additional post-game)..... etc.

tl;dr the RPi is a bitch to set-up and even with a bunch of time spent getting things working as accurately as possible your experience will not be as true to the original as buying this, plugging and playing.

Because I want to make sure we keep having the same discussion, I just want to say any ol laptop off the shelf with an hmdi out (optional) + xbone controller you should already own = infinite emulation, and I have/use that set up all the time, great stuff -- but this thing is authentic and isn't cheapened by me abusing the fuck out of save states relentlessly

It's showing up in the warehouse system in store and it usually shows up there first and then the rest of the system a day or two after. That's how I know when Amiibo/Collectors editions are gonna go up on bestbuy.com. Then all you have to do is wait for the refresh. Bestbuy orders should be OMS'able sometime after server refresh, so if it sells out in your area get your ass to a store and steal it from another warehouse!

Ya, you can literally buy a retro pi kit that has all the hw shit then run a generic retropie setup script that does it all for you.

I enjoy writing these scripts, me and other kunts like me take away all the complexity for others. The end product is for someone that literally wants to buy a thing and just type  sudo ./script_that_forum_kunt_gave_me.sh and have it all work.

:leon very cool, i'll def look into the retro pi if i'm ever in the market for something like that

everything's relative momo, integrating a differential equation might be child's play for me but very complex/impossible for you without a significant amount of learning time invested. i also wasnt saying it was hard, but that it required a reasonable amount of time invested to get a product on par with this, obviously this would change relative to your skill. i imagine there are forum posts that also discuss the best emulators/settings for individual games, and possibly even a script you can use to configure all this relatively quickly.

my point stands that nintendo's quality of emulation is always incredible/as close to the original as you can likely get with reasonably spec'd hardware

i get the idea people buy it and play it like oh hey cool retro gamez! and then quit after 10 minutes and never touch it again

i mean the damn wii had classic games and stuff right you would play it then

and literally any other time

what are the odds you haven't played the games featured on this thing to death? they're the classics everyone already has played to death, not obsure stuff u never heard of

I haven't tried this method, but couldn't you also get a Steam Link (currently on sale for $15) and just stream right to your TV, too?

My PC is another room, but I have an older tablet PC hooked up to my living room TV for media that I can use for emulation and stuff.  Have my NES Classic Mini there, too, plus it's always easy to just plug in the GPD WIN.

Even the Virtual Console on the Wii had save states. Well, one save state I guess.

Nintendo's emulation record is actually pretty good all things considered, even if some of it is done because it's easier/cheaper. Like all the N64 VC games had rendering at 640x480 even when the original games never did. Heck, even when they did those Zelda discs for the GameCube they output all nice and crisp resolutions instead of original ones because it'd be dumb to specifically run the games at the old resolutions and write something for the GCN to output them.

I want to say the Homebrew guys found that the VC N64 emulator even allowed for stuff that's technically not accurate like allowing both an emulated rumble pak and emulated controller pak though Nintendo never got around to using that in any of the VC games I don't think. Not that there were many N64 games. Plus they did stuff like swap out the ad textures in games like Wave Race 64 which is still a dodgy feature in many emulators. (Though I suppose Nintendo probably could have just edited the ROM in some more advanced manner. IIRC, they may not have. They did "patch" some VC games at later points too.)

When you consider the only thing Sony ever did was the smoothing in the PS2 before output since the games ran off the actual PS1 hardware first. And only recently did Microsoft get around to letting emulated games take advantage of the improved hardware to run at higher framerates, finally brute force the Xbox emulation, etc. Nintendo is actually pretty great. It's about the one area where there's little to criticize about the company especially when compared to their competitors. I mean if you want "legitimate" BC/emulation from the original company.

Then there's their hardware usage like in the GBA when you plugged in a Game Boy game, allowing all the different screen formats and palette choices. Even the GCN BC in the Wii was a smart hardware choice in terms of ensuring compatibility, just turn the clocks down since the GCN games won't be looking for the new hardware stuff anyway.

:trumps I get it's a good business decision, but the only people I know that owned it are stay at home moms looking for the newest fad or resellers.

Throwing that much money and active effort to buy a mini emu that doesn't include third party games like FF VI. :donot

FFVI is in the SNES mini you goof:

EU and japanese version always looked the same. Not sure why NOA went for something different, maybe they thought it looked to kiddie or they wanted something that resembled the NES more?

Not edgy enough for 'muhricans.

Quote
ND: The Super NES design is quite square compared to the Super Famicom. What was your motivation for going in that design direction?
LB: The Super Famicom was maybe okay for the market in Japan. For the US, I felt that it was too soft and had no edge. We were always looking at future modular components (even the NES had a connector on the bottom), so you had to design with the idea of stacking on top of other components. I though the Super Famicom didn't look good when stacked and even by itself, had a kind of "bag of bread" look.

Didn't read those wallotexts, but this is going to be a hard pass for me.

A smallish console that can only play some mainstream games and a soon-to-be-ripped SF2? Kinda misses the point of the myriad of genuine classics that are all on the SNES.

Emulating on PC has been perfect and I've never had a problem emulating games with a onscreen phone pad for years (Casually played tons of snes/gba games on commute and even managed to beat Prinny PSP.)

I can see the appeal, but I think I would've dropped money on a system just for easy access to tons of paid VC games and local 2P with the classic controllers.

The price, lack of convience, lack of games etc. seem so off the mark for me.

Yeah, emulators have come a long way. I remember back when I was in high school and my cousin and I were trying to run Megaman X2 on ZSNES, and it was so buggy and glitchy that it was pretty much useless. But now, like you said, SNES (and really nearly all 16 bit game) emulation is nigh perfect.

The only problem right now is that I read some article saying that future OS's and new PC architectures will make emulation much more difficult, and at some point, not even possible without having to rewrite completely new emulators. In that sense, I wouldn't mind getting an SNES mini, even though the price is still kinda shit.

Still, I think we can all agree this is at least better than the NES Mini.  :yuck

Real talk tho, a Gameboy Classic seems like it would be a slam dunk.

Now this would be great. Base it on the GameBoy Pocket mold and it'd sell like bonkers. Thing would have like 1000 hour battery life with a tiny 160x144* screen, even backlit.

They could even do multiple colors to really get the collector crowd. :lawd

* Though that brings up a point: could Nintendo even feasibly source a screen with that small a resolution for the amount of systems they'd need to make? They might even opt for a much higher-res screen and just upscale the games...

Thinking about it, they'd probably just do a GameBoy Color Classic instead of pure-GB, which I would find less interesting as a GB purist but certainly more functional with a wider library to choose from.

Yep, probably. Apparently not! But at least none of the versions will have have hardwired controllers like the JP Mini Famicom had. Also the controllers will be original size. :heartbeat

I believe the connection between controller and console is that proprietary wii/nes mini plug. So it won't work with a real SNES. I think adapters exist though.

Just like last week the RSS (internal Bestbuy system) is showing activity with the sku. Last week it was "active" now it's "deactive" which means something should have been happening by now. I don't know if it's that they haven't gotten allocation numbers from Nintendo or what but this is strange activity for a sku in their system. Core blue (newer BB system) has some information about how to handle customer demand for the system as well as script suggestions. It also includes materials for management to print out when there is no stock available all of it seems to be provided by Nintendo themselves.

My OMS order from last week is still active in the system and is awaiting stock at warehouse.

God-tier controllers:

- DualShock 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

It is known.

Dualshock 1-3 were terribly un-ergonomic in my use. DS4 remarkably managed to flip the trend and be surprisingly good. Something about the proportions is better. Prefer it to the X360 pad. Yet to try the Xbone version but MS has been pretty consistent since the lessons learned from the awful original Xbox controllers.

And yea, a Gameboy Classic would be sweet.

Yeah. Thinking about it these would be fantastic gifts for my sisters too.

Now that I'm actually sure I'm getting one, I'm getting really excited about it despite having an actual SNES hooked up to my living room TV.

HDMI + 21 games  built-in + save states (which aren't battery dependent) = hype.

Last summer when I bought my SNES, the prospect of hunting down good-condition carts, and potentially replacing the save batteries, was more than a little daunting. This takes that out of the equation. :)

Or their own production capabilities when it's obvious that nostalgia addled lunatics will line up to give them cash that they're turning away because... Who knows.

It's good because it allows you to win arguments online.

"Oh, you stayed up till 3am to preorder a Wii U Classic? Should have just bought a Raspberry Pi like me, scrublord.  :snob "

It's also very easy to set up. You just have to say that you bought one, and it already starts doing work.

I mean, it's not that hard to set up. A friend that's not very tech savvy AT ALL got one and was able to get it up and running just fine the same day.

I prefer just using an old laptop or desktop as an emu station for 8/16 bit games, but that's just me.

Struggle preordering a piece of plastic overpriced by about $60, get it cancelled, end up paying even more to a scalper...

OR

Just get a fucking emulator that has been working just fine for decades, probably even on a toaster nowadays or whatever.

Yeah I can see how this is a tough choice.

Someone could probably make a pretty penny by prebuilding a bunch of Pis, 3D printing a SNES case, and loading them up with ROMs tbh.

I'm not really a nostalgia tard. I just have good taste in games and find being able to play classics in HD to be pretty fucking cool. No one has told me why the fuck I should get a raspberry pi. On the other hand, nes/snes classic is hd and isn't a fucking computer. Can I navigate the interface with a controller? Can I simply plug it up into my tv with a usb cable?

Raspberry Pi is just a mini computer. Computers are in HD. You can download a RetroPie image and copy it onto your Pi and put whatever emulators and roms you want on there up to around Dreamcast. You can navigate it with a controller. You can plug it into your TV's HDMI port.

OK.  Get any old Windows PC (you can even get stick PCs smaller than a Mini Classic console!) and put Retroarch on there.  It has controller-supported menus and games are configured to work with your controllers automatically.  I use it on my GPD WIN all the time.  Problem solved.

I'll get a Raspberry Pi for up to playstation. Dreamcast doesn't need the shit because it can use vga and you hook up vga to hdmi. I'll collect those japanese famicom/super famicom games though and play them on the pi. Seems like a good medium. But Saturn. Does it play Saturn. That's the big question. Saturn is a fantastic system but hard to emulate.

If you don't want to mess with setting up a Pi, you can also just get something Android-based and do most of the same stuff.  It's beyond easy to load up emulators and ROMs on Android OS...

Get a PC for this.  Doesn't have to be expensive.

If you want to go the handheld route (also hooks up to TVs via HDMI)...GPD WIN all the way.  You also get the bonus of being able to play PC games, and that also means playing your Super Turbo ROMs online via Fightcade.

Here's someone running a Saturn emu on it.  I have no idea about this because I've never messed with Saturn emulation.

Yeah, all this "bu bu bu bu the emulation is shitty" stuff just makes me laaaaaaaaugh. The last time I played a lot of 8/16 bit roms was on a shitty laptop in like 2006-8 and it was all perfect.

If you're playing Mike Tyson's Punchout, make sure you're using good controllers and your tv has a good refresh rate or whatever. Otherwise, you're fucking fine.

I'm pretty fine with emulators. Nes classic is an emulator guys. The games on it are roms. I play emulated games pretty frequently. This past week I think I racked up 30 hours playing Super Street Fighter II Turbo on Fightcade - which emulates multiplayer arcade games for easy multiplayer access. So my problem isn't emulation obviously. I would however like something physical. Emulators require tweaking, fiddling. When it comes to 8 and 16 bit games I just wanna pop it on and go. Another problem is that these days (and in the past) roms and rom sites are full of viruses. I refuse to visit cool rom for this reason. Finally, nes classic could fit hundreds of nes roms on it with full HDMI access and convenience. That couldn't be beat and I didn't know about Raspberry pi at the time. At the outset, nes classic and SNES classic are fucking steals. In the case of snes classic in particular, which comes with a previously unreleased game.

We are 30-40 years old now. Having problems with what people choose to purchase with their money is pathetic and the truly laughable.

Finally, I have a problem with this age where people think they are owed things just because they're old. I see nothing wrong with wanting to support soemthing official especially in such a nice, well made package. That doesn't make us stupid.

Now that I know there's a real alternative to Classic I'll look into raspberry pi. I really hope Nintendo does Nintendo 64 Classic if only for Mario 64 and Wave Race. It helps that Mario 64 was made for that controller and analog stick. It'll probably have 20 games on it and that'll be the entire catalog of 64 games worth owning most likely. I'm looking forward to seeing how the games are emulated there. And I won't be labeled a moron for wanting one. You forget that a lot of these games are rare, and are now expensive. And some of us like physical things and aren't cheap asses.

To get the same kind of experience, you'd need an NES modded with HDMI out.  And LOL at those prices.  Might as well buy a Pi, PC, or even pay the scalper NES Classic Mini prices.

I lucked out thanks to my GameStop manager. When the SNES Classic went live for in-store pre-order he shifted my $50 deposit from another game to it. Didn't even have to be in the store and he called me up to let me know he did it. Swung by during lunch to pick-up my receipt and pay it off.

Dylan Cuthbert is still losing it over having Star Fox 2 being released. Won't stop posting about and I'm genuinely happy for the guy.

Speaking of which here's the English manual for it: https://www.nintendo.co.jp/clvs/manuals/starfox2/html/USen/index.html

That's really awesome.  I guess I can see the reasoning behind them having canceled the game the first time (heard it was because Nintendo didn't want to try to release such a basic 3D game against the Saturn and PS1 at the time), but I still think it was kind of silly that they never put it out on the SNES or released it on another platform like the GBA, DS, or Wii eShop later on.

Fils-Aime, in an interview with the Financial Times, also said that supply of the throwback console, which launches Sept. 29, will be consistent enough that gamers shouldn’t pay more than its $79.99 list price if they’re buying through an auction site.

“I would strongly urge you not to over-bid on an SNES Classic on any of the auction sites,” he told the Financial Times, adding that Nintendo had “dramatically increased” production of the SNES Classic.

Hopefully this turns out to be accurate.

Due to incredible demand for the upcoming Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, Nintendo plans to ship the retro-inspired product into 2018. Originally, shipments were announced to cease at the end of this calendar year.
Next summer, Nintendo will also bring back the Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition system with new shipments. More information about the timing of the return of NES Classic Edition will be announced in the future.

In addition, more units of Super NES Classic Edition will ship on its Sept. 29 launch day in the U.S. than were shipped of NES Classic Edition all last year, with subsequent shipments arriving in stores regularly.

More units on launch day than the entirety of NES Classic in 2016. Still probably not enough but continuing shipments should alleviate things. :rejoice

I'm going to bank on being able to roll up to the Best Buy nearby around 7-8am, grab a ticket an hour later and come back when they open I guess.

Was thinking about hitting up the TRU in the middle of nowhere, but doesn't sound like it's going to be that hard to get one.

Pre-orders went out in literal seconds in the middle of the night so the demand is definitely there. With Best Buy showing about 200 units per store on average and Target is looking like ~60 per store so far it's looking good tbh. This thing will definitely sell out but I hope people can casually walk in day of and pick one up instead of resorting to lining up.

Also this controller sold out super quick: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A6GCN70/

Seems like it's pretty easy but there's still a risk of bricking the system so I'll probably not risk it yet.

Over the weekend I started up Earthbound, which I never fully played but I did play the beginning on VC on the WiiU a few years ago. I'm pretty early in, I just got to the second town but I got mushroomized and now my controls are all fucked up and I haven't gotten around to looking up how to fix it. I wanted to try and figure it out on my own but it;s annoying so I probably won't. I'm enjoying it so far, the dialogue and characters are super weird.

And I also started Secret of Mana which I basically know nothing about beyond it's a real-time combat RPG that you can play coop. Combat is fun.

There's zero risk of bricking the system.

I didnt hack mine yet, I'll let them fix bugs or make discoveries that may make games work.

But if you're horny, you could dive in and add games if you wanted.

You go to the hospital to remove the shroom.

in happy happy valley there's a girl at the entrance that'll take the mushroom off you too. man the early part of the game is just so damn annoying. it's like dragon Quest if you whiffed 50% of the time, died constantly and enemies had stupid obnoxious status abilities that made your character useless. the game has fun scenarios but god damn the battles can be annoying.

Seems much rougher than the NES Classic hack. I'll be waiting for a bit while people figure out all the issues.

Reading GBATemp and the miniSNESMods subreddit and there are lots of people having weird ass issues like losing all their backgrounds or having the hack really slow down the OS.

Unfortunately the built-in emulator Canoe doesn't have a lot of widespread compatibility like the NES Classic, which honestly is expected. Looks like using RetroArch will be mandatory once they fix the performance issues.  :yuck

i keep thinking about how contra 1 was our gens dark souls, that one game people bragged about beating. of course back in the day there were tons of brutal games that you might not even understand how to play let alone be good at. I'm glad more games nowadays try to be more fair, but damn if kids aren't annoying as shit bragging whenever it takes a little effort to win at something.

The MSRP/RRP in Scandinavia is almost $200 and many retailers are charging extra since it will sell well anyway. The Nordic distributor, Bergsala, is taking advantage of their monopoly and it will be sold out again before Christmas.

So I already had an 8bitdo wireless SNES pad and a SNES Retro Receiver from buying a SNES Jr. last year, but obviously the SNES Classic uses a different port (the Wii/NES Classic one), so I needed a new NES Classic Retro Receiver (which was recently updated with SNES Classic compatibility.)

I got it two weeks ago, but it was busted. No matter what, the blue light which showed pairing would not come on. And yes, I updated it to the latest firmware (1.07, along with the controller itself to 4.0 for good measure.) So I put in a refund request on Amazon and promptly bought two more. :lol

They arrived today and after the somewhat kludgy process of updating them (again), I've got them both sitting snugly* in my SNES Classic and I'm playing this bitch wirelessly. :bow The included controllers literally would only go halfway to my couch. :lol

Gonna buy a second wireless SNES pad now. The only, only thing I would change here is to have some combo of buttons invoke "reset" on the SNES Classic (AKA go to the home screen) since getting up to do that is lame. Might not even be possible though? Ah well.

I'm a very happy camper right now regardless. :rejoice

spoiler (click to show/hide)
* The Retro Receivers actually feel really loose in the system, they don't "snap" in and instead kinda hang there. I'm not expecting any earthquakes to jolt them out but wish they were a bit more secured.

Here in good ol' Krautland, the thing is hard to find and scalpers sell them for 100€ at the least, 120-160€ usually. Which isn't all THAT bad, but I'm unwilling to reward them for being assnuggets.

SD3 works if you assign the preset ID of 0x1610 but comes with a new share of issues

Tested a bunch of translated games. All of them work except one (Villgust). Nobody cares about Villgust anyway so no big loss!

Currently at 130 games. Should be able to top it off at a clean 150 and be done with it.

I can see this thing being more of a thing to play when people are over. I feel like I'll get plenty of games of MK2 and NBA Jam in with friends and maybe not a lot else :lol
