I haven't drawn anything in over 8 years and I feel like a piece of shit over it. Was probably my one great passion in life and now all my desire for it is gone.
If someone draws an ultra detailed veiny dick I can use it as my avatar.I'll do it for 0.014 btc :money

I charge $500 to $1000 a day for freelance design work. So $100 is a bargain in comparison. :snobIf someone draws an ultra detailed veiny dick I can use it as my avatar.I'll do it for 0.014 btc :money
That's $100 :lol
if you want people to post their shit you're not supposed to scare them off by putting your best shit in the OP you fucking motherfucking fucking goddamned son of asifjsdguihaswdiolfnqwiuegthuqasnvwaeobg
What kind of dick can I get for $3?

$75 is my baseline fee these days. Anything beneath that is not worth my time. :doge
And I do get complaints from people that I'm too expensive but I work a full-time job (and then some) so I have to have a "high gate" for my freelance stuff or I'll just burn myself out and feel like I'm wasting my time.
And I'll even admit I'm probably too overpriced at my current skill level but hey, there's a lot of really talented people out there who are tragically underpricing their skills and their work.
:yeshrug
Also, I like the excuse "oh, but art and design is fun. So naturally you'd be okay with working for free, right?"
For me art and design is tedious and sometimes very stressful. Especially when I'm trying to excute someone else's vision.
There's only been a few times where I've gotten a significant kick out of doing something and it was usually due to a giant burst of inspiration that came out of nowhere.
No lie, I’m with Dufus in that I’m a bit intimidated by the art by the others in this thread!
Good luck working at furrcon!God fucking damnit I've been doxxed.
Regarding your fear and stress with drawing. I made this thread years ago about one of the most important books I’ve ever read which gave me the confidence to pursue my artistic goals again after giving up. Fucking read it.

This fucking book. I started reading it, and every page speaks to me. I needed this like 5 years ago, but I’ll take it now,
Daemon your art is good that it upsets me :maf

You know what upsets me? My terrible self-marketing skills :(
Use your talent to make us porn
I keep thinking this thread says "The art [of dealing with] crippling self doubt" and clicking on it.
I actually continued the picture with a crosshatch like brush, but even if it looks more... finished, I like the other one better. It gives a "raw" feelingYou original has way more texture. This one feels impressionistic.spoiler (click to show/hide)(https://i.imgur.com/mfbDjs0.jpg)

Dangerously getting close to furry. You'll be making money soon.
Great work on the rendering.
I think an ear, as compositional element, would've worked good there, but i guess this way is even more grotesque. :thinking
Never posting art in this thread, you two are nuts!

daemon do you have an artstagram I can follow?
Looks more like Chili Pepper
Any advice for getting started drawing?
Also, I heavily encourage not trying to get "outlines" of things you draw, but rather softly composing by sketching and softly shading. Eventually you'll build up the darker tones by repetition.

Thanks for the advice! Starting with grayscale sketches. :)QuoteAlso, I heavily encourage not trying to get "outlines" of things you draw, but rather softly composing by sketching and softly shading. Eventually you'll build up the darker tones by repetition.
Sketching is unintuitive to me so I need to work on that.
Are there any instructors/lessons/tutorialists you could recommend as well? Maybe even books?
