I saw a post about a parent getting jealous of a teacher, and it got me remembering how many times throughout grade school I’ve slipped and called my favorite teachers “mom” at one point or another.
I was always really casual and friendly with my teachers, and sometimes it would slip out instead of saying “Miss”.
Am I alone in this? :doge
-
yes, you are weird and should carry this shame with you forever
-
Teach me harder, daddy :mouf
-
Anyone else calls Benji "daddy" when he doxxes you hard? :-*
-
Once. Never again
-
Once in junior high. It was cool. She had my back.

Once in elementary.

I probably would have been more likely to remind them that they aren't my mom.
-
Uuh no.
-
A handful of times, yes. :doge
-
Since I was around my friends I went with mom dukes to sound cooler.
-
I thought about it a lot as a kid, but I don't think I actually ever did it. If I have, it must have been third grade or earlier.

Only in a snotty, sarcastic tone

In junior high!? LOLOOL

We would call our favorite teacher mom. It was lit. Never by accident though. For shame. Call your mother and apologize.

Once after working a 23 hour shift I left a voice mail for the team on the team voice mail box (back when those were a thing) detailing everything I had done then ended it by saying "I love you. Bye. Amen" I still hear about that today.
When we first moved to the states we were still learning english and we had to deliver news papers to make the ends meet. And my oldest brother was delivering and the house owner was out on his porch so my bro was like "Oh crap! What do I say? He's going to say thank you. Do I just say 'No Problem?' Or stick to 'You're welcome'? He kept debating it in his head and when he handed the guy the paper he was like "Thank you" and my bro smiled and said, "Your problem!" then turned and ran away.

What. No. wtf

It's worse than you know. My mother was actually the vice principal of the school I was attending at that time, so there was actually a chance I could have been calling a school official "mom" and would have been correct.
This was not the case in this instance.
