I assume it's people that have never played a Remedy game.

We don't speak of an abortion around here, ok?
(I need to get around to doing American Nightmare and buying Quantum Break. But Remedy has been 2 of 3 for me. I didn't care for Alan Wake that much.)

Max Payne 1: released 2001: bullet time
Max Payne 2: released 2003: bullet time
Alan Wake: released 2010: flashlight mechanic
Alan Wake American Nightmare: released 2012: flashlight mechanic
Quantum Break: released 2016: multiple time manipulation mechanics
You laid a nice, steamy shit of a hot take there. ::)
Crazy to think how Max Payne 2 was kinda considered a bomb by T2??? I didn't know that lmao. The first game's quick port sold like 2-3 million copies on consoles. So Take Two forecast the sequel port and Mafia's port to do similarly. This was partly the reason they were fine with giving San Andreas an extra year, they expected MP2 and Mafia on consoles to make up for no GTA.

Lager is just trying to maintain brand consistency
Toku, should I kill all the students or just smear them with a PR campaign? Or does it even matter? I think I’ll just kill them, bunch of liberal snowflakes.

Quantum Break was great, I should play it again some time on the X.
With that said, it has a lot of unrealized potential. This games seems to go all out.
I'm glad Remedy is still making this type of game :rejoice

About the time Quantum Break came out people were saying single player was dead.
Would love to see Remedy make a game with gameplay again.
Actual reviews whenever this launches:
"Heh, it's OK. 7/10".
They will never come close to Max Payne 2 againThey did. It was called Quantum Break. Better Story too.

Does the Epic store not do preloads? :lol

I mean I doubt it will do well either. It's got cult favorite written all over it.
Don't know how it looks like shit though.

Ends with "it has this very like...$40 PS2 game kind of vibe to it, done with like you know- modern convention and production. It's a bummer that it doesn't run great on every platform."
Definitely seems like a game to wait on and pick up discounted later on.
If you fuckers #cancel Remedy over a few frame-drops you're all dead to me. :hmph
Remedy's been #cancelled since they decided not to do Alan Wake 2. Oh well, not my problem. That was not their decision. Had they done Alan Wake 2 when they wanted to do it, It would've ended up as a Kinect Flashlight mini-game but Microsoft never greenlit a sequel.
Everything on low except textures(on med). Borderless, internal resolution 640x360. Recorded via Xbov DVR, so, some framerate and frametimes lost. Game crashed with "lack of gpu memory" error at the end :) Runned at 12Whttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Xx50knQbow
[...]but then again I have to downscale on my 2080 to get acceptable performance even without it.That's bananas to me.
The whole "ever-changing labyrinth" aspect of the game has me interested, but it just seems janky and worth waiting for patches/price drops since it doesn't appear to be very popular and probably will end up discounted within a month.
Is this game Epic Store exclusive for six months or is it longer?
You could try 1080p, now that Nvidia added integer scaling to the driver (defaults to off, I believe). Would be as sharp as native res, unlike before.
Or use DLSS! Forgot about that one.
So PS4 has exclusive content like extra missions and the core values astral dive suit? Ugh, why does that have to be the worst-performing version of the game?Because you didn't buy Quantum Break :bolo
:dizzy
Already discounted to $50 on Amazon.
Gamefly shipped this, so I'll be jumping in over the weekend
Achievement Guide says it's pretty easy and nothing is missable

I know you're a Remedy stan but come on dude.
Even on Xbox One X, this is close to the most visually impressive game I’ve ever played. It’s quite spectacular. It certainly is. As far as third person shooters go, the only recent competition is Resident Evil 2 Remake but the materials are on another level of realism and the lighting and vfx particle effects are just insane.
How long is this epic exclusive?
$38 on Amazon and at Target.
How long is this epic exclusive?
One year.
Can we rate the systems this is best played on?It goes something like this:

This game is pretty boring and generic so far. Also you could crack a walnut with Jesse's chin
I started it on PS4 (Pro)- gameplay wise, it's janky and I hate the excessive motion blur that can't be turned off. Haven't hit anywhere where performance bothered me yet.
But none of that really mattered after I started getting into the game. Love the atmosphere and story. It's totally SCP: The Game. Whereas in most other "AAA" type games I get bored and hate excessive cut scenes and all that crap, here I'm all for it and even like looking through all the documents you can find.

Did not make the NDP Top 20 for August. Astral Chain did (at number 10).
RIP in pieces Remedy.
Also, Man of Medan charted at #19.

To be the RE4 of this generation it would have to sell enough to influence an entire genre. Ummm, not sure that is gonna happen...I'm thinking that it will inspire a bunch of next gen games in terms of story telling, art direction, sound design and shows us what's possible with new technologies like ray tracing that will play center stage in the next generation.
This game really is the Resident Evil 4 of this generation
Just beat this game and goddamn, it rules. Truly a return to form for Remedy and I didn't even dislike Quantum Break.
Best part was the Ashtray Maze.
