Even if they had signed Machado, Harper and Keuchel that team was not looking great.

Pretty big opening day. Astros won, Dodgers did a 8 homer opening day record, Detroit almost had a perfect game.

Mildly excited about the White Sox. The starting pitching is still a dumpster fire, but their position player talent is showing a lot of promise and their veteran relievers have been good and could be a nice trade chip.

Revenge for last years ALCS, a new record via Presley, and continuing a winning streak. Great game, but Sox are still competitive and threat shutting down the Astros offense like that for so long.

Rays - 26-15
Twins - 28-15
Yankees - 26-16
National league
Cubs - 25-16
Brewers - 27-19
Dodgers - 30-16
So competitive.

There are like 10 teams though that are tanking. Tanking is one of those things that makes sense, but didn’t really exist 10 years ago. When a third of the league does it though it’s bad for the game. The success of tear down rebuilds like the Astros or Cubs ensured that a lot of teams will try the same thing and it kinda ruins the game. The Marlins or Orioles to name the worst offenders don’t even try to field something resembling a major league team.
Orioles, Blue Jays, White Sox, Tigers, Royals, Rangers, Mariners, Marlins, Giants. and the DBacks to a lesser extent are all tanking.
After listing the tanking teams, looks like though the AL is much worse this year.

sea has been doing ok. Started with a nice head start from that two game win overseas in Japan against the A's and stayed number one in the AL west for a few weeks as the Astros got their bearings straight. They keep going up and down. Probably in a bad spot. It happens. They're not a bad team. They're just on a reallll bad losing treat. They're 3-7 of the past 10 games and that has really tarnished their record.
