Maybe for the best, but goddamn this sucks.  Would be nice to at least get a real spiritual successor to System Shock.

Prey 2017 is probably the closest thing we've gotten recently to a spiritual successor to System Shock, it's also a pretty darn good game in its own right.

I think that the real problem is that after Epic Mickey no publisher wants to give Warren Spector a big bag of money to make a video game.

Epic Mickey was better Than a bunch of other licensed stuff from that era. Yes, damned by faint praise, but the game doesn’t get enough credit.
