Former Hurricanes defenseman Michal Jordán accused Flames coach Bill Peters of physical abuse on Tuesday.
In a series of tweets, Jordán said Peters kicked him and punched an unnamed player in the head during a game.
"After years making it to the NHL had experience with the worst coach ever by far [sic]. Kicking me and punching [another] player to the head during the game...then pretending like nothing happened," Jordán wrote.
Jordán's accusations come after former NHL player Akim Aliu alleged on Twitter that Peters made racist comments to him when he played for the AHL's Rockford Ice Hogs.
Aliu wrote that Peters "dropped the N bomb several times towards me in the dressing room in my rookie year because he didn’t like my choice of music."
"He walked in before a morning pre-game skate and said 'Hey Akim, I'm sick of you playing that n----- s---,' " Aliu told TSN. “He said ‘I’m sick of hearing this n-----s f------ other n-----s in the ass stuff.'
"He then walked out like nothing ever happened. You could hear a pin drop in the room, everything went dead silent. I just sat down in my stall, didn't say a word."
“[Franzen] was hurt at the time of the playoffs, we lost to Nashville...and some of the things he said to him on the bench,” Chelios said. “I don’t know what he said to him behind closed doors — but he was blatantly verbally assaulting him during the game.”
After Chelios’s anecdote about Franzen spread, Johan himself confirmed the story. The retired Red Wing told SportExpressen, “[Babcock is] a terrible person, the worst person I’ve ever met.”
Chelios believes petty displays of power are one of Babcock’s signature moves.
“What he did to [Mike] Modano was incredibly disrespectful, what he did recently to [Jason] Spezza in Toronto. Those are the things that are so unnecessary,” Chelios said.
Modano joined Babcock’s Red Wings at the age of 40 in a last ditch effort to earn himself a second ring. But as he approached the remarkable milestone of 1,500 games played in the NHL, the coach healthy-scratched him for a late-season game against the Minnesota Wild, leaving him with 1,499 for his career.
”He tried to healthy-scratch me for the outdoor game in Wrigley Field against Chicago because it was my hometown,” he said. “Just to show that he’s the boss and to show the general manager that he’s the boss, is such a power thing. His ego is a big part of his personality.”

Deputy commissioner Bill Daly on Tuesday confirmed the NHL has asked that players and staff extend their self-quarantine 10 days beyond the original March 27 timeline to April 6 — further pushing back the earliest team facilities can reopen.
Commissioner Gary Bettman said recently the decision to resume play would be made in accordance with health officials. The league is working on various scenarios about what a potential return to play could look like.
Bettman remains optimistic about resuming this season and awarding the Stanley Cup. That could mean playing games deep into the summer or early fall.
The NHL plans to stage a full 2020-21 season, even if it means starting as late as November.
This will be the first hockey season I ever watch. Rooting for the Rangers.

What if early aughts Islanders but feeling sick ?
It's OK I guess. The logo and anchor are not too busy or bland though feels a bit dated. Using a singular name is fresh enough in American sports but in the NHL it's hard to top the Avalanche which is so on point. Kraken sounds a bit silly and very "If you grew while Pirates of the Caribbean ruled the box office !" while simultaneously being pompous for going to a mythological name instead of the "Squids".

The top four teams in each division will qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, when each round will be best-of-7.
