Modern Wafare day 1 and Outer Worlds on game pass day 1. Glad Switch owners are getting Overwatch and Witcher 3, hope the ports are serviceable. Witcher 3 on base XB1/PS4 pushed those fuckers hard.
Overwatch is optimised enough on XB1/PS4, but the FoV is so bad I'm surprised they never patched in an option to change it. Shit feels like it's at 50 degrees.
-
Outer Worlds on Game Pass and Atelier Ryza are the only Day 1s for me.
-
-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
-The Outer Worlds
the rest
:larry
-
Already got CS3 preordered, and will get Luigi's Mansion 3
I like the name "Disco Elysium" a whole lot...
-
Outer Worlds on Game Pass for me, dunno if I'll stick with it but it looks cool
MediEvil :nope :kobeyuck
-
Outer Worlds is interesting but I don't have the epic launcher and am trying to avoid having it, so
Also Little Town Hero but I can't find out how much it will cost and it's not a $60 game, which is my concern
-
it's on pc game pass, just do the 2 months for $2 ultimate deal or whatever it is now. or you could buy it from the ms store.
-
Neo Cab is multi-plat- is on Switch too. There's a demo up now.
Didn't really like it. Feels like something is missing. Maybe it's the lack of voice acting. :thinking
-
Just Outer Worlds on gamepass for me.
-
Will get:
-Overwatch Switch
-Luigi's Mansion 3
-YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World
-Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered (Gamestop exclusive?)
-Indivisible (Backed on KS a while ago)
-Trine 4
-Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout
Might get:
-The Witcher 3 Switch
-Mary Skelter 2 (Interested in this but with Limited Run Games releasing Fairy Fencer out of nowhere, am wondering if it might get a physical release from them later on.)
-Resident Evil 4, 5 & 6 (Am sure I will end up with this but might wait for a price drop)
-Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD
-COD
-
There's also Trine Ultimate Collection coming out which will have Trine 1-4. The PS4 version should have all the games on the disc, but the Switch version will only have Trine 4 and download codes for Trine 1-3 instead. If you want a cart with the first three, Trine Series 1-3 just came out as a Gamestop Exclusive.
-
Several things I want to get, but will probably wait for most except Destiny 2 expansion.
Not gonna lie, I’m seriously considering Ring Fit Adventure. Just like with Wii Fitness, it may have potential as a good “get together with friends and be stupid” type of game.

$80 for it feels like a lot. Will wait to see if bombs and gets discounted.
-
Seems like kind of a weak October.
Only 2 games that I’m interested in really.
-
The Alliance Alive got an HD Remaster?!? I totally missed out on this on 3DS. Might have to snag it on Switch.
-
Will probably wait until BF to get Outer Worlds. You know shit will be glitchy being a WRPG, so might as well wait for a few patches and a price drop. Plus since MS owns Obsidian now, I don’t feel so bad about not supporting them day one :doge
I’d get LM3, but my backlog is already hilariously big, and it’s not the kinda game that I just HAVE to day one either. But then again, Nintendo almost never discount their shit, and this has a double gold coins promotion if you preorder. Goddammit :nintendo
-
I'm getting Ring Fit Adventure and The Alliance Alive. Wacky Nintendo games are usually fun.
-
Weak, but that's fine D2 will be taking up a load of my time anyway,
Getting:
D2
COD MW
If I pickup a switch this month I'll get LM3 too, we'll see.
-
Oh, they’re remastering the good Ghostbusters game. I thought it was the shitty Activision one.
-

>Playing those on an underpowered console that makes them look like ultra-shit
Just buy a laptop, fellas.
PC
-John Wick Hex
Isn't this on the Spyware Store only? I was interested until then. :(
Multiplat
-Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint
-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
-Disgaea 4 Complete+
-Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD
I was interested in Ghost Recon because I enjoyed Wildlands, but it probably won't be on Steam, so fuck that.
Call of Duty looks good, but it's exclusive to Battle.net, so fuck that (even though I have a Battle.net account for DiabLOL 3 and Snoreverwatch)
Disgaea isn't on Steam, you liar. That's not multiplatform. :p
Super Monkey Ball I might get on Steam sale.

Pretty passable month, but nothing that screams BUY DAY ONE like Cyberpunk. My search for worthy $60 titles continues.

Ghost Recon is Epic/Uplay

More people need to get into the Trails series.

What makes you think RE5 and RE6 will look bad?

More people need to get into the Trails series.
That’s the only game I’m getting this month. Played the first two in Japanese before a localization was announced, so having them in English is gonna be weird.
-
More people need to get into the Trails series.
What’s the draw? I don’t really know abou thyme much.

More people need to get into the Trails series.
Do they?
I'm sorry, I feel like it should be up my alley ,but I can't stand Falcom and thier storytelling. These Tails games being the prime example of them not understanding pacing. There's just so much story and it's not visually interesting to watch. The low budget presentation really doesn't help and the games are so long, and there's 4 of them. I like jrpgs but fantasy high school stuff just is'nt me anymore. Yeah I like Persona, but 5 especially had so much style and in the end feels more relatable and real then the writing of Falcom could acheive that it's not as boring as anime high school in these Cold Steel games.
-
Good for you bitch. Trails rules slob this knob

The battle system is pretty fun, very reminiscent of Grandia. The music is spectacular (well, more so in the CS series than Sky). But the main draw is the world building. It has by far the most detailed world building out of any game series, events constantly being foreshadowed, townspeople who have more personality and development than some of the main characters from other rpgs.

They are honest to goodness old school turn-based JRPGs. While there are definitely some anime tropes they are not fucking horrid embarrassing pieces of animu shit that make up the majority of non-Square/Atlus/Tales/Atelier JRPGs these days. If that doesn't get you going, then you must be dead inside.
-
:yeshrug
The first one was of the most boring and animu tropey games I’ve played in forever. 4 games and over 100 hours of watching stilted anime dioramas is not my idea of fun, if it’s yours more power to you. When your failing worse then Tails games you know you fucked up. Why Falcon thinks they are storytellers I have no idea. This shit has infected the Ys games as well with 8 being even more obnoxious then 7 or Memories.

What makes you think RE5 and RE6 will look bad?
Yeah, PS360 had about 250 gigaflops. Switch has about 400 gigaflops (docked, portable about 160). So in docked mode RE5 and 6 should look better than they did on PS360. Of course Witcher 3 is a different story.
-
The problem is that Capcom doesn’t give a shit.
They do the bare mid when it comes to ports.
-
my favorite was the first re4 pc port that had no mouse support :lol

I've been thinking about trying an Altier game for ages. Haven't been serious about it but a streamer I watch that introduced me the majesty of Dragon Quest Builders and to a lesser extent my Time At Portia, had a series where she played some Altier game saying it was sorta in a similar feel. Was thinking about getting Ryza cause, hey, Alteir and boobies. Why not? What's the general consensus?

It only just came out in Japan today, so there's not really any reviews or impressions out there yet.
-
I'll consider the new PvZ shooter if the reviews are good.
-
fuck all that.
Megadrive Mini :phil

The Alliance Alive HD is out this month too I think. That's another good classic turn based RPG, basically like SaGa + Suikoden + Bravely Default. Very little animu, and an addictive "guild recruitment" system. Feels quite a bit rushed in the last third though...

Yeah, I was randomly looking up info about that last night. CSIII is enough for me for the foreseeable future as my game time at the moment is Judgment and playing Dragon Quest Builders II with my daughter, but probably after Christmas when it drops in price.
-
Iris was the only Atelier game I played. It was cute and had cool 2d graphics during the post-3d, pre-indie era when companies were avoiding 2d like the plague. The rest of the games came out at such a rapid pace and seem to be much more focused on alchemy and crafting, which tbh is one of my least favorite tasks in gaming. I do love the series overly flowery art though.
-
If you wanna try an Atelier game that's not all alchemy and crafting, try: Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists. It's actually a city builder/manager, focused on setting up supply chains between people gathering materials, people crafting goods, and people selling the goods. Some of the missions are pretty challenging.

I wanted to try that out, but the reviews and general word of mouth isn't great.

More people need to get into the Trails series.
I have the first one on PC but I don't think I've put many hours into it. It hadn't really grasped me.

Same for me. I think it was at like 13 or 14 hours i was just like "if this hasn't taken off by now it's not gonna"

It definitely takes off but the games have more peaks and valleys than a mid 90s progressive house set. And the buildup is slooooooow, even for the genre. It's certainly an acquired taste but it's extremely rewarding if you're willing to put in the effort.
-
Trails games have slow build up but the climax is sensational
Kind of like my sex life, believe it or not
