Post by: Coax on February 13, 2020, 05:00:57 PM: Read somewhere that the first parts of the story will be available upon release which made me wonder if one is buying the full game or if it's kind of early access 2.0 (or maybe someone had the wrong info).

Pity they dropped out of the GOG.com release. Will be interesting to see how the microtransactions are handled.

Thanks. Will keep an eye out for impressions. Surprisingly difficult finding info about planned subsequent acts, so far results I've come across in the meantime have just mentioned the 3. Edit: maybe they're considered the DLC, which I have read mention of.

Post by: Freyj on February 14, 2020, 06:17:25 PM: Enjoyed what I played and like the combat actually has weight to it, but the Act 1 boss’s third phase is ridiculous and I’m not banging my head against this quite yet. Needs a lot of balance passes and bug fixing, but promising.

And yeah the story and voices are awful, but so is most everything else in the genre including D3 and PoE.

I watched a LP of about the first couple hours.

So there's that 9" tall dude who like, asks for his legions to be prepared to go fight demons. He's like a high inquisitor or something.
He's the dude in that armor which doubles as an architectural piece, with skulls and shit.

Then the main character turns out to have some supernatural powers and their friends are turning on her and banishing her cause maybe it turns out they're a demon so they're pissed.

I have no idea why that would remind you of 40K

tldr: it’s Grim Dawn and not PoE so don’t expect that
