Though some stuff that comes to mind was Olly Moss stuff. He designed the posters for http://alifewellwasted.com/merch/ for example which to my eyes are great. Eventually Sony commissioned him for the Resistance 3 box art I believe it was.

If you want official shit for Japanese games, check Yahoo Auction (use a proxy like Buyee) for posters or A2 or B2 size scrolls.

I also used customwallscrolls.com to turn some various fighting game artwork (like the various bonus images in SFV Arcade Edition) into scrolls. Their quality is very good if you want to go the custom printing route. This is one of them:

Actually in a similar vein, if I could ever find a high-res/textless version of this AC 64 art I'd also probably get it printed. Really doubt that exists though. :P Might be able to get someone to photoshop a version, but that's a lot of work...

Dusk-silhouetted figures in a forest setting apparently really do it for me. :lol

Hmm in my mind I have it more associated with the game in general, with the second sticking out in my mind as PS2 Euro specifically...

In any case I go back and forth on which one I like better.

And the American covers all suck, though the Wii Edition's blue is my favorite if they absolutely have to put Leon on the cover.

I'm sure it was something along the lines of "that's not edgy enough! We need something more exciting!" But then...that. It's almost up there with the Mega Man 1 box art.

Failing finding that could alternatively upscale using a neural net but really would need a cleaner, less lossy source for ideal results (or some neural model to account for the lossiness).

Below is an example of scaling using a commonly used, forgiving model. It introduces its own particular texture however, although some don't mind it. Cropped two sections since the full size is too big to host. Note that my GPU isn't strong enough to process more than narrow slices at a time so some seams may be visible.

Could have just been the image itself, though, or turning it into a wall scroll as opposed to a print. In the past I've generally just had wall scrolls made since you don't have to worry about frames and they're super easy to put up/take down/store. No doubt that framed prints look better- I don't care since it's shit for my game room.
