I seems new houses these days don't come built with porches. I grew up in the burbs and we had a porch. It because people are just more antisocial these days?

extra money for pieces of wood strapped to the front of the house that don't really count as an actual room
you have to get weatherproof and/or uncomfortable furniture when you could sit inside in your nice chair
there are mosquitoes and traffic noises out there

Why have a porch when you can just put your 80 yearold mother in a home?

I love it. Nothing more peaceful than sitting out on the porch in a rainy day.

We can bring them back by selling them as "package spots" that you can also sit on while waiting for your packages.

Spying on your neighbors is a lot more efficient through apps like Zillow. Sitting on your porch and collecting data on them the old fashioned way is too time consuming.
