Its fitting that people named Potato and Cauliflower of Love are driving this thread :)Post (grilled) hog!
I'm no real cook, I just really grill meat and roast vegetables, my fiancee does love to cook when she has the time. Last week she made a delicious beef bourginon but I don't think she took any pics :(
Not sure what's worse there...dude who clearly can't cook or the super annoying YouTube fuckhead voiceover
I just finished lunch, and I STILL want to bury my face in that. :droolI'm currently sitting on my couch in a post-lunch food coma (finished the leftovers) watching a cooking show and feeling completely unmotivated to get back to work.
i mean you know exactly why. I locked it.
but I just made some tortilla soup.
so lets agreee to your facism.

Been doing a lot of cooking recently.
Made lasagne and chili con carne.

I cheated and used bechamel from a jar. One of these days I'll be bothered to make it from scratch, but until then...
It turned out great and most importantly, no complaints from the kids.
I got back into making chili over the Christmas break and thought I would make a small batch with the leftover mince meat.

I mixed my own chili spices using:Cook some onion off with crushed garlic, add the meat (I usually use a mix of mince and cubed chuck steak), add some red kidney beans and then a can of crushed tomatoes and some beef stock.
- Cumin
- hot paprika
- smoked paprika
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- oregano
- ground coriander
- chilli flakes
- ground cayenne pepper
- salt and pepper
I also made some corn bread (savoury not sweet) in my bread maker to go with it. Just followed a recipe from here (https://breaddad.com/bread-machine-jalapeno-cornbread-with-cheese/) minus the jalapenos (so the kids would eat it). Turned out great and goes fantastic with the chili.

Takes 5 mins you lazy git.
I've got a good crop of lemons on my tree at the moment. I'm definitely going to try that once they ripen.

So's masturbation, but look how we spend our time.
I'll keep it in mind next time I'm cooking. I don't have a spit, but my Weber kettle will do nicely. That marinade sounds
:lawd :obama :ohhh :preach :delicious :checkit
the chopped garlic, onion, oil, rice and soy sauce all fried together is perfection on it's own. then you can add in eggs and meats or seafood :rejoice

The flu has entered my house for the first time in two years so I thought I would make some chicken soup.
I also made some pasta sauce as food prep for the next few days

I would, but I'm sick and don't want to leave the house to buy the stuff I don't have. Next time.
What is Romanian cuisine? Pork chops in walls?spoiler (click to show/hide)I dated a Romanian girl for a few years and her nor her family had any idea how to cook and would just usually microwave tendies or do takeout. It's a shame since I've had some other south slavic cuisine and it's pretty good, I'd imagine Romanian cuisine has a lot of Turkish influence, which is one of my favorite cuisines.[close]

I didn't cook it, but had this in Chicago over the weekend. I thought it was gonna be terrible because it had a super fishy smell but it was good. I like fish, the smell was simply kinda strong but they smoked the fish which was interesting. Don't think I had ever had smoked fish before this.
5.30am and we're off and racing

Is it too early to start drinking?
No Hulu here. All those shows come through Disney+, but there are some local licencing issues that can hold things up sometimes.
Watch the bear potatoTwo episodes down. Thanks for the recommendation. I love it.
Good show on Hulu.
I still have chilli in the freezer from my last batch. Songs like a plan.

That's on the agenda too.
For some reason, I've never watched Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown. Currently rectifying that problem.
It's my kind of food show. I don't care so much about the process of cooking, but I do love exploring the cultural significance of the food being eaten. It's very easy to see Bourdain's footprint on so many recent food shows.
