Obviously, I was being facetious in my answer about not wanting to meet anyone on EB. The problem is, if there were an actual EB gathering, it would most likely be attended both by the folks I'd be interested in meeting (Himuro, TVC 15, Drinky, MAF, lyte edge, distantmantra, maybe a couple of others whose names escape me at the moment) and folks I would rather avoid (who I won't name because I don't want to offend anyone), so I'd have to skip said meet-up.
Honestly, 90% of the times I've met up with online people have been disappointing. I met thetrin and sp0rsk at TGS last year and when I refused to go out later with them, sp0rsk put on a creepy voice and pretended he was my grandma (who would die only a month or so later - coincidence?). I ended up hanging up on him after telling him I couldn't meet up with them because I was with another friend (the truth) and him refusing to take no for an answer. Later on, he and thetrin were both incredibly pissed off at me for a few weeks.
Anyone do the online dating thing? A friend of mine used to swear by it, and that's actually how he met his former wife (who ended up divorcing him as soon as his family started having money troubles, lol).
