They look terrible from the pictures. I love most of MGS's outrageous looking bosses but these MGS4 guys are just too damn ugly. Hopefully, they're much cooler in-game.

if you compared splinter cell and mgs to skating games it would be that mgs is like tony hawk where you try to see how much you can pull off but you don't take it seriously and think of it as a real spy game because you have to know what the game makes the enemies capable of and splinter cell is like skate where you have to have skill in pulling off real spy things and if it looks realistic then you can do it.

IE; Splinter Cell is for armchair spies that need absolutely boring gameplay to feel as though their really infaltrating Generic Terrorist #3s compound.

how is it an armchair spy game? that's like calling rainbow 6 an armchair special forces game. most of your skill is in planning. it doesn't matter too much how good you are at shooting.

the better you plan, the less you get red lights on your shoulder. I personally find that more satisfying then humping the ground and grabbing greek statue cocks.

Cause I can just play Rainbow Six instead of Splinter Cell. The whole one man army is done better on MGS where it doesn't try and play it off as some realistic spy thriller.

And I love how you keep harping on the "Greek Cocks" scene and not being able to understand that he was posing in the likeness of the statues to escape the guards while maintaining humor (I know your not that dense, its just a talking point on MGS). MGS is my favorite series but I think Splinter Cell is great too. I don't know if technical issues/control schemes might have made SC worse on consoles but most of them were great on the PC. I'm sure TVC would agree.

Each series has its own strengths and weaknesses. SC's story is realistic and easier to comprehend but that doesn't make it more interesting. The stealth gameplay in MGS is inferior to SC's, but the combat is better in MGS. The two series go for such different goals that I don't even think they should be compared. There's really no reason why a gamer can't like both.
