finally got my rental copy. must say, it's the best wii game to date, i'm having way more fun with this than TP. i chose to go the "advanced" route with controls and it's pretty spot on. "samus & friends" is still a weird concept to me -- the human designs are terrible, retro really should have stuck to full armor on all NPCs. the VA is done well at least.
the game once again proves that the wiimote button layout is crap, a pain in the ass and carpal tunnel inducing. it's inconvenient to scan and access the map, and many times accessing these functions will result in your screen going bonkers because the wiimote becomes off center. i'm assuming they added a few waggle actions for shits & giggles and imo they don't do anything to make the game better.
nitpicking aside, the pacing and action are near perfect, with just enough story elements to keep you immersed in the experience. i don't mind how easy the game is... but i've gotten lost a few times already because i hate scanning shit.
if this game gets outsold by all the casual shit, it's practically the end of hardcore gaming on the wii as we know it. tell all your wii buddies to buy this so we can get more games like it. deserves all the praise it's been getting. it's like the ultimate action adventure light gun shooter. once the price is right, i'll pick up a copy for my collection. can't say i agree that this is the "dual analog killer" -- it's very good and accurate, but it would have been shit if there was no lock-on feature. the nice thing about dual analog is that looking doesn't require you to be pointing your arm at a screen and keeping your viewpoint centered. not a big prime fan, but i must say that corruption is the best iteration to date.
