Oh no no, I just listed the games that struck me the most when I first bought the system.  I bought a gamecube first, yeah, but after manning up and seeing the awesome that was Ps23 and xbox (with those two games as well), I explored their catalogues.

What games did you get at launch for this gen?  This gen, I tried to get everything at launch or at least 1 month within the launch but I couldn't get the 360 until 6 months after launch.  Which was good in retrospect, since the 1st batch of 360s seemed to be the least reliable.

i always pig out at launch, and it's completely embarrassing.

360-- i got some HorribUndle with PDZ, Kameo, COD2 (liked), PGR3 (didn't like), and something else I can't remember. maybe madden, which was awful.

PS3-- no bundle, resistance, rr7, and genji (which is horrible).

wii-- this is perhaps the worst launch of my life. zelda, trauma center = good. then, red steel, cod3, and rayman.

so much waste. ugh.

Why didn't you like PGR3?  It's not innovative for sure but it was pretty stunning at the time.  Can't believe you got Genji when you weren't forced to.  Genji was going for $15 in Asia about two months ago.  It's probably down to $10 now. 

I actually got a WII too but for some reason I always forget to list it.  I don't know if my subconscious is trying to tell me something because I keep forgetting that I own one.

I was looking for some kind of third person action game. I thought, "How bad could it be?" Yeah, well, very, very bad. I did like Genji 1 though.

And as for racers, PGR3 to me just felt kinda stilted. It was obviously rushed, and I definitely miss 60 FPS in my racing games. I played the living shit out of Forza 2. I just am not a fan of the PGR series in general actually.

I don't generally buy a console with one game in mind, but there have been some exceptions:

Super Nintendo- Bought when Street Fighter II was released.
Saturn- Bought for Nightwarriors
Neo-Geo AES- Bought for Samurai Shodown II
Gameboy Advance- Bought for Castlevania Circle Of The Moon
Xbox- Bought for Dead Or Alive 3 and Halo
PSP- Vampire Chronicle and Ridge Racers
DS- Bought for Castlevania Dawn Of Souls, Jump Super Stars, and Ouendan
Xbox 360- Dead Or Alive 4 (which then got delayed!)
Playstation 3- Virtua Fighter 5 (which then didn't come out until Feb. 2007!  And I barely touched it)

Although I got multiple games for all these systems when I bought them.

All the other systems didn't really have launch titles I went nuts over at the time.    The DS I got was the second one I owned; sold the original off quickly after launch to get an imported PSP instead (which was well worth it). 

I listened to all the GAF raves about Ouendan and Jump, and got all hyped up for them, only to find them both not quite for me.
