I completed one of the Official Mode Missions, those were kinda hard. the AI in this game can be cruel with its aim of range weapons.

Im doing the easy Original Mode Heero mission right now tho.

I dunno, I think a musou fan could find enough in this to have fun with it 'if the mood struck him' but it DOES lack a lot of the more innovative features the Empires games have. In terms of game mechanics I would say the game is only really on par with Dynasty Warriors 3, which is forunately the number in the DW series where things actually started getting good.

I think most of the enjoyment will come from the fact that the gundams animate really well and the models are spot on. They did a great job with the story modes and the game is plenty challenging since the AI imo is better than that of the recent musou games. More specifically ranged attackers are far more accurate and active. Fights with key characters are also really challenging and emulate the anime battles nicely.

I have also noticed the scripted events leave even less room than most of the DW/SW maps for error. In that I mean you have to be spot on making some decisions to support certain areas.

I would definately say I am enjoying this game as a Gundam fan. I think part of it is also because I havent played either Empire game on my 360 for a while so im 'caught in the mood' to play a musou game. If anything tho this game is making me want to play SW2 and DW5 Empires. If only they made a Yue Ying Gundam lol.

I don't think the game would be as awesome if you weren't into Gundam.

Ichirou, Gundam Musou is why I bought my PS3 back in February.  ;)

360 version is supposed to be inferior to the PS3 version, I thought (since it's a port).  That's the word on GAF anyways.  But I guess achievements are pretty important for 360 owners.

I doubt I could tell the difference between the two. In terms of geometry and effects this game won't win any awards, and the X360 lacks the jaggies inherent in PS3 games. However in my eyes the two were even, except the 360 offered me something a LITTLE more.

GAF can suck a lemon. I've given up taking their advice on games.

Dhrone: DW5 Empires is my favorite. SW2 Empires is neat, but DW5 Empires has so much lore behind it.

The 360 version is coming out in Japan as Gundam Musou International, with an English option.

I don't have a PS3 or a 360 so I'm not biased either way, I'm just telling you guys the word on GAF, which may well be total BS.  They've nitpicked nonexistent shit before, like the controls in Metal Slug Anthology.

I think GAF has the mentality that a game is inferior simply BECAUSE its a ports. All for the system warz.

I mean almost all of the 'ports' for PS3 blow completely, knowing GAF agendas I wouldnt put it past them to hype PS3 Gundam Musou just cause its not a port on PS3.

The Turn A is cool, although the God Gundam is my favorite in Original Mode.

There are the songs from the UC shows (MSG, Zeta and ZZ), but I don't think they used any of the Turn A, G and Wing stuff.

Did you know the only reason they included Wing Zero is 'cuz they heard Americans like it?  Except they made a mistake and included Wing Zero instead of Wing Zero Custom which is the one Americans actually like.

And they included the Turn A to coincide with the release of the remastered DVDs.

I still have not been able to get into the game.  Musou Orochi came out a month after this did, and I enjoyed that so much more.  I'm getting Musou Orochi again on 360 next week, and I think I might sell off Gundam Musou at that point.

I am liking the game alot but havent polayed it as much as Warhawk/LAIR.

I chose the PS3 version of this as it displays sharper with more PS3 FX. - it doesnt seem to have any "accomplishments" on the PS3 tho so if XBL achievments are yer thing get the X360 edition for sure.

Displays sharper?  More FX?  Could you be more specific as to the graphical differences?

ahh ok let me take a stab;

- both games run in 720p but the PS3 game looks sharper and as if its a higher rez.
- The lighting looks better in the PS3 game
- the PS3 has more particle effects in the air to represent dust, battle debris etc..
- the textures for things like the ground and much more detailed on the PS3 and this means alot considering that you see alot of terrain on the screen at all times....

-360 gets MUSOU OROCHI OMG AWESOME next week
-Dynasty Warriors 6 is going to kick the ever-lovin' shit out of this game

Sorry for the hatorade.   :)

But yeah, it seems to be everyone's opinion that the PS3 version looks better than the 360 version, although that was based on the demos.  I don't know if Koei improved the visuals for the release.

It looks the same on both systems to me.  I don't know how anyone could tell any differences unless they've got it running at the same tmie on equally calibrated displays.  Unlike reviews of most other ports, I've yet to see a review mention any differences between the two.  Also, the 360 can upscale it to 1080p which looks a little better than native 1080p.

I'm in the exact same boat more or less. The only dude I recognize was Heero because that particular Gundam show was on Cartoon Network for a long time and my younger brother loved it. Everything else was like "eh, well it plays like that one Dynasty Warrior game I played before but I can't see myself playing this more than an hour at a time and for more than 10 hours tops."

The games pretty challenging, but almost cheap at times. I've never seen ranged attackers so accurate in a musou game. Dealing with them while you fight a tough boss fight is hard. Or dealing with them while you try and run to event points...ARgh bazooka to the face :(

dude, i did not know this was coming out for the 360!  i thought it was PS2 only.

I heard the "cheer" cry from the warriors in the DW games when I read that.  :lol  I need help.   :-[

yeah  may get Mosu Orchi - I also dont want to get over run with these games..

The thing about Musou Orochi is that it's the first game to change up the game play and story formula a bit, since it's a team-based "fantasy" game.  You get to control three characters at once and can switch them out on the fly.  There are new stages and older stages from both the DW and SW games to play.  There's new enemies as well.  I hear there's a glitch with the horses that causes you to own everything with some of them, but I never did this...I don't really like horse riding in these games.  It's just awesome having EVERY character from DW and SW playable.

For me, this game completely kicked the shit out of Gundam Musou, which obviously looks much, much better, but felt like more of the same old thing.  Musou was fun, fun, fun!  The 2P split screen play was limited, however, and I hope the Xbox 360 port addresses its faults, although at this point I have no one to play with anyway.   :'(

Nah, the big K whores out to ps2 and 360 equally these days. Pretty much a given if its on PS2 you'll see it on 360 lol. Fine with me, I like me some hi def DW/SW

They still skip the XL games.  I highly doubt that we'll see Samurai Warriors 2 XL on 360.  I didn't find it so bad going back to the PS2 SW2 from the 360 one, actually...the PS3 scales these games nicely.  All the nice effects are gone though, and those textures....it will definitely be nice upgrading to Musou Orochi 360 from the PS2 version, but part of me wants to keep the PS2 version in case an XL version is released.

But then again, I was able to do a straight trade of the 360 SW2 for the PS2 version, so I don't see why I wouldn't be able to do the same if that happens...
