I actually like Play, reviews not withstanding, but they seem to fall behind wacky games.  I wonder if Play was the magazine Hsu was talking about in his rant about the game media bias and moneyhats.

He was talking about Game Informer.  No one needs to pay Dave Halverson to overhype anything.

Play doesn't bother me that badly, as their main focus seems to be on being gaming dorks instead of wacky internet personalities like say, 1up.

I'm not really surprised that GI was the mag that Hsu was talking about.  A couple of years ago, GI clearly had an anti-Xbox bias.  For example, they laughed at how the poor Xbox fanboys were going to have to wait a few months for a great exclusive like Fatal Frame 2.  The PS2 did have many great timed exclusives, but FF2 clearly wasn't one of those games that Xbox fans were dying to play.  GI seems to be much more balanced since the 360 launched.  MS must have done a good job of sending the moneyhats.
