The only rap album there is the Cuban Linx one; the other is Radiohead. I figured you'd be the type of guy into Radiohead

They're some Columbia English major students or something that mess around. Think the Strokes mixed with Islands/Unicorns...that's a real broad generalization too. Not everyone's cup of tea, for sure. But it's catchy.

I use listening genres'

trance - is al quiet experimental, acoustic ambient, quiet bleep pop, etc....

industrial - refers to the core industrial sounds such as throbbing gristle, merzbow, NON or anything else that will clear a room like a sonic bomb - only for the hardcore. This genre DOES NOT include kiddie pop industrial like Front 242, etc...thats dance music - this is audio bondage.

electronics/dance - for me is stuff with a beat that most people would accept as >music< where as only niche power listeners can take on the industrial/trance listening genres. electronic/dance trance fits into this category for me.

soundtrack - movie soundtracks - "Mouth ov the night" "charlies family" "bioshock OST" "Technosoft game music collection 1 thru 15" etc..

alternative & punk - for me is anything with guitars, vocals, 80's pop, etc.....stuff i liked when i was a teeny bopper or my good time oldies (laundry day music) this is like Bowie, flam punk, punk, pop industrial (weak stuff people like to call industrial like front 242, skinny puppy, etc..) this is a large yet least listened genre for me - especially when im in an LP mood. my listening genre 'trance' contains great symphonic masterpieces.....>alternative & punk< albums are a bunch of songs

country - this is my personal listening genre for my self recorded/composed collection of over 5,000 pieces of music.

I rewatched my bowie video collection on DVD recently - the Ryko one. good times boppin to be my wife and fashion.

I agree alt and punk are two differen things - thats just a default label in itunes and i have both genres in it mixed with 80's synch stuff ets...

I consider Psychic TV punk just because of its marketing brilliance. Most would say that show is 'industrial' hahaha

I just recently got a hold of all (or most) of Bowie's discography.

I've only listened to Low so far but Heroes and Lodger are most definitely going to get some attention in the near future. 'Industrial' used to be a word for what's now called Noise (I've seen Merzbow described thusly) and at some point became the label for what could be called Disco Metal, not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm probly weird for liking both Neubauten and Rammstein but I don't give a fuck.

- Heroes - pretty fokkin good - LOVE all of the album arts on the LP sleeve....

- Hunky Dory - you know

- Lodger - top o the pops.

- Low - like glass raining down on you - just where is Hendrix?

- Man Who Sold the World - my SECOND fav.

- Outside - a great comeback after the shitty 80's. Eno is back too on this one which rules.

- Pin Ups - Good covers - altho i dont like many of the original tunes.

- Scary Monsters and Super Creeps - at the dawn of the 80's the last good album till the 90's - Teenage Wildlife = ! no all of it does.

- Space Oddity - overplayed for me to like it as much as i could

- Staton to station - my THIRD fav.
