Cloud gets the addresses. Say I end up being your secret santa, she'll give your address to me and only to me. I don't think it's a bad setup.

I trust cloud. I just don't trust the distinguished mentally-challenged fellow squad not to spread my address around. And I don't want to open my door someday to see Synbios flapping his flippers and saying "HEY DUDE I CAME TO STAY OVER LETS GO GET SOME CHICKS." That's why I don't want to be paired up with certain people.

ok... there were a lot of questions in this thread and i don't wanna go back and quote everyone, so i'll just sum it up here:

1. yes, i have the right to bar anyone and everyone from participating for whatever reason i like, not limited only to creepy stalking cripple behaviour. i am not gonna let anyone with a really bad reputation join in.

2. yes, when i get things set up you can PM me with the people you wouldn't like to have your address. however, i won't tolerate if you have a long list of people... keep it to 1 or 2. that just makes it harder for me to match people up, what with some folks being unwilling to ship internationally. if you are that worried then please don't participate.

3. i will note that there was no bombs sent through the mail last year. everyone was a great sport and got really creative gifts.

4. yes, if you participate you have to give me your mailing address. again, the same thing happened last year and you didn't see me sending out packages of jarosh's hair in ribbon-tied boxes. if there's one thing i respect it's people's privacy. if you participated last year you'll have to send me your address again because i deleted them all immediately after secret santa was done.

5. no you can't pick who you are teamed up with. i have a friend draw all of the names out of a hat so it is completely impartial.

i think that's it. great to see so many people interested. i'll begin setting it up first week of november or so!

how about everybody pitches in a couple dollars as insurance in case they get a shitty present ($5 chipotle gift card) and the "insurance" money goes towards whoever gets a present that would make somebody banned from doing this again. as for the synbios thing, you could maybe do it so that he sends it to one person's work (hear me out) and then their mail room sends it to the person.
