Third Strike is the better competetive game without a doubt, but the AI is weak.
Yeah, I think so; personally I think it's that only because of the parrying...the guys who are amazing really have *skill* because of the parry game. Like that Daigo video...it's not just that the guy parried all the hits of Chun-Li's multi-kick super...anyone can do that with enough practice. It's that he did it under all that pressure AND with no life left.

Heh. I'm not that bad, I just have problems parrying.
So you're not that good.

My main issue with TS are the characters. There are few characters I find fun to play as, but I find the majority of Alpha 3's roster to be glorious.
Yeah, it's the same thing here. In Alpha (any of them), I find that I enjoy using the majority of the roster, especially in Alpha 3. In SF3, it took me the longest time to finally find a character that really clicked with me...which is Elena. In the original SF3, I could never really settle on anyone, in 2nd Impact, I was all about Hugo, but he wasn't quite the same in Third Strike for me, and I got tired of getting my ass kicked, so I tried literally everyone until I found I was quite good with Elena, even beating some of the best players in Atlanta at the time (although this was in casual play), much to my surprise. Before that, I was getting my ass kicked by even LEGUNA of all people, and I couldn't have that, so I tried Chun-Li, and while it was easy to win, it was also boring as fuck using her. I like using Chun-Li in all the other Street Fighter games, but SF3 Chun-Li is a pretty different character and the best way to use her just isn't that fun.
Trailer looks neato, though I was hoping it'd be 2D.

Man, read the thread. It's a teaser trailer. We don't know what kind of fighter this is yet.
To be honest, SF4 could feature the SF2 cast and I'll be fine with it. The super weird fighters in SF3 felt sooo out of place, and even if you may not agree yourself, it was a massive turn off for the majority of people.
The inspector gadget guy, the russian clown guy, that Urien (?) dude, who was some dude in a speedo. Even the final boss was a dude with a speedo with facepaint. They felt all so out of place. Dhalsim was weird for the time, but there was only him.
They need to tone down the wacky animu angle and concentrate on the oldschool bad-ass feel of the original games.
This is something I used to hear all the time years ago, but really, look at the SF2 cast. There's a wacky Russian wrestler guy who dances with Gorbechov. A freaky-looking green guy with weird heair, teeth, and bizarre leg hair. Dhalsim is a given. There's an American "Air Force" guy with a brush head. A "Spanish bullfighter ninja." It's just as "animu" and weird as SF3 is, but because of when the game came out, you were more accepting of it at the time. It's just nostalgia.
I want SF4 to do what SF3 did and introduce a brand new cast again.
Dude, the final boss on SF3.
Yeah, Gill sucks compared to M. Bison. There is no question about that.
also how can you tell it's Capcom Japan making the game?
It's pretty evident from that trailer. There is no way Capcom USA made that...the art and style is without a doubt Japanese.
