anyhow back to the game. i really want serious impressions since I might pick this up tonight and never play it.
It's pretty good. Very different. Suitable for bite-sized gaming chunks (each stage is pretty short, but in a good way). Lots of shit to collect. Pretty good use of waggle. There have been some decent puzzles so far, too. It's like an updated take on the graphic adventure, with a focus on breaking it up into couple o' minute sized stages.
Minuses include the visuals. Capcom did their job well, Nintendo's hardware is just trash. You can tell the game would look pretty good on an SDTV. The other major minus at this point would be that sometimes the waggle doesn't work as well as it should, or how you are supposed to be moving something isn't very clear. This hasn't been a problem that has caused a game over, and even at the worst bits, it's only taken me a few seconds to figure out what is going on, but I'm early in the game, and if I've encountered this issue a few times already, I'm likely to come across it again. I have not run across any that were bad yet, but the graphic adventure school of puzzling dictates that there will eventually be annoyingly non-intuitive puzzles. It's only a matter of time.
So yes, it is overall a good game. Not sure if it's a 9.0 yet, but if you want a Wii game that's good and is devoid of third rate mascots, here you go. It features decent use of the waggle and an apparently lengthy game. Another bonus is that outside of the beginning, it doesn't appear cutscene heavy at all. Capcom deserves our dollars once again! Unfortunately, Nintendo fans are scum sucking gaywads, and they will probably skip this game and we will never ever get a sequel or follow-up.
