Enterprise software developer for a large, geriatric technology company.

I'm pretty sure I'm doomed to middle management in five years. :(

If there's one thing this semester has taught me, I don't think I ever want to be a lead programmer again. I hate meetings, I hate having to justify everything, I hate having to argue things. I'd rather just be given a task and left to do it.

It's not so bad, but you do have to be a bit of an ass at all times in order to manage all the shit a lead programmer has to handle.

I'm a psychology student at a university for a few more months, and I work part time at Subway. I'm also interning at an adolescent inpatient unit for kids aged 11-17 at a local hospital, but I don't get paid for that.

I've never experienced that like you have but I think I'd be the same way. I wouldn't want to have to explain and justify everything.

I've heard people describe being a lead programmer/project manager as the worst time of their life.  I'd assume any mid-level managing is, but I guess when it comes to coding it can be a much bigger headache.

I am an unemployed student.  I spent my last few dollars on videogames.
