It looks alright.  I like some of the newer effects but the lighting and textures still seem kinda bland.  Also, RYU's character model hasn't been improved much from NGB.

lolpgrade. Consider when this magazine was finalized and when the game was revealed. The shots are probably of the same or similar builds. It does look like it will be fun.

After Sigma, you really have to judge this game in motion.  Sigma looked like buttered sex in screenshots (and this looks of similar quality when it comes to fidelity, although it is bloodier and what not), and for the most part it looked fine n motion, but that vsync.  Man, frequent vsync issues are basically the scarlet letter of gaming to me.  I love Sigma, and it looks great and it's mostly fucking smooth, but ever time there's a vsync issue (and they are somewhat frequent) it just takes me out.  I think vsync issues are in (most cases) worse than moderate slowdown or a choppy framerate in an otherwise good game.

So yeah, the game doesn't look much better than Sigma, but if it moves better, dicks be a poppin in my pants.

What's vsync?

What's vsync?

vsync issues = screen tearing, which is the momentary loss of vertical synchronization between portions of a frame.

The new environment are better than black/sigma, the skies doesn't have that bloom effect like in sigma and the water is a whole lot better.

and hopefully, there won't be any screen tearing.

At this point, after 2 rehashes, I'll basically be pretty darned happy if it is just a level pack with no screen tearing.  I love NG that much.

And it had better be as long as the first one.

I just hope there is at least 15 stages or more.

stages = less backtracking than a big city like the first game, meaning it might not be longer (but that doesn't mean it won't be better or more fun).

in another news, they are cutting out some weapons that were no "fun", wonder what are they...

and this time, Ryu will have a rival, Itagaki calls him "bad ass super ninja", i have a feeling that he is Ryu's father, also Rachel won't be featured in here (THANK GOD!).

Actually, I take it back.  If the game is shorter, but all the stages are bangers, I'll be cool with that.  ninja Gaiden was certainly long, but it wasn't all consistently great, particularly the back half of the game.

In addition to the Vsync problems, there was also quite a bit of slowdown in Sigma which wasn't present in the Xbox game.  Judging from the pics, the game should at least run at 720p w/2xaa on the 360.

Also, no more 1st person projectile shooting please.  That shit is lame in a fighting game.  Better cutscenes would be nice although I don't expect it.  distinguished mentally-challenged cutscenes seem to be the norm for this genre.

You don't need 1st person view when shooting arrows though, Ryu will automatically target nearby enemies.

just stand still and shoot.

only place you will need to do that is when fighting that Chopper and destroying the radio station near it.

I saw it in person. It definitely looked and moved better than Sigma at TGS.

I love you robby.
