All right, I'm giving a thumbs up to both games.
Ghost Squad only needs the Wiimote, so you don't really need to use the shell, but with the Zapper, it does feel nice. The Zapper shell is well-constructed and doesn't feel cheap; it's nice and sturdy. I played with the Wiimote only for most of the game, though. It works great, and light gun games definitely work well with the Wii since you don't need to buy a gun and there's no cords anywhere. Ghost Squad's difficulty level is pretty good and it has a LOT to unlock, plus multiple routes through the stages. Visually it looks a little worse than an Xbox game; this is no surprise given that the original game was on the Xbox-based Chihiro arcade hardware. I like the music, and the voice acting is pure Sega-brand CHEESE. Definitely worth a look if you like gun games, but don't expect to be blown away visually...at times it looks like a Dreamcast title.
DDR Hottest Party is just more DDR, but now you can use the Wiimote and Nunchuck for added hand movement. I ended up turning this off since I want more leg movement; it didn't feel like the hand motion stuff was any kind of exercise. This game actually looks pretty nice, with it's "cyberspace" like backgrounds, although that really doesn't matter. The music is mostly...well...

, but I bought it for some exercise, and it's giving me just that.
