Saying that the console with the highest instillation base is made up of totally casual players is just distinguished mentally-challenged.

One of my favorite things about gamers is that they think just because they play games, which is to say, games that people tell them to play, they are supposedly "hardcore". This goes for fanboys of all console types. It's hilarious when read posts at gaf in that thread like:
"Resident Evil 4 isn't hardcore?"
"Dear Akira, I love your work. You're one of the best composer of the entire art industry but there's something you didn't catch here. Shall we buy Manhunt to make you think again about your statement?"
Since when was Manhunt hardcore gaming? Resident Evil isn't exactly my definition of hardcore gaming. Silent Hill isn't my definition of it either, as the actual gameplay in the games is meh. Dark or mature != hardcore, mainstream != hardcore. just because you play games period does not make you a hardcore gamer, so stop parading the word. Until you get past console biases, genre bias, or game bias in general, and learn to love and how to appreciate games period, don't say you're hardcore. It's getting annoying.
Next thing you know, someone's going to be calling Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest "hardcore". Sigh.
